that nice brown wrapping paper you can get - where from?

Does anyone know what I mean? there's a kind of brown paper you can get that has a sort of line in it, almost like a stripe, but within the paper.

I want something that's totally plain, undyed, unfussed with, but that looks nicer and sharper than the 'heavy duty kraft paper' I got off ebay two years ago and have finally used up!

Any ideas? is there a special word for it?

I've seen it in our Post Office and in stationery type shops I think.

I would try places like Wilkinsons, Poundstretcher, Asda ect.

I use parcel paper from the Post Office, it's just as you describe and good value for money.

just been into our local stationery shop, and they do have rolls of brown paper, but it's sort of more fibrous than what I'm looking for - I think what I want is thinner, shinier, and a bit stronger (kraft paper is a bit more matt, and books seem to go through at the corners of it sometimes)

any other ideas of exactly what it is I want?!

I used the Staples brown wrapping paper last year. It was very thick and shiny.

Tesco sell big packets of it. I've seen it in Poundland and Sainsburys, too.

Our post office have the one I think you mean, has a slight sheen to one side and a muted self stripe running through it?

I wrapped my christmas presents in it last year and finished with red ribbon - looked cute

It's just parcel paper, once side lined the other shiny.

I bought a massive roll on ebay about 3 years ago. It's still going strong. Not sure what it is called, but it looks like the one GemmaTeller described.

We used to have to cover our books with that at school.

Reminds me I need to buy a big roll for this year as we send a lot of parcels abroad and they look fab done up in that, all decorated with the kids xmas rubber stamping set.
