Is the Good Food Show Winter any good?

Just wondering if anyone has previously been to the Good Food Show Winter and if it's worth going? For picking up Christmas presents, for the Christmassy atmosphere etc? Was thinking of getting a ticket for my MIL as part of her Christmas present - good idea or not?

I've only been at the weekend, and it was heaving, hot and there were some very rude customers complaining about crowds and shopping trolleys.

Since trolleys are SOLD on site a hard stare and 'oh fuck off you miserable twat' sorted one out, and we had a great time!

There are some great products and demonstrations, lots of freebies to try, and I can't wait for this years.

As long as you are mobile and able to walk a bit . . .

I went last year to the Birmingham one this year I'm going to the one at Olympia. Nice day out and loved the demo by Mary berry and Paul Hollywood but only bought one thingGrin

No good for anyone who has sticks/crutches/scooter due to the crowds. This year I week be going early and leaving early!

Thanks for the replies! Thinking about going to the one in Birmingham. We're all mobile and don't mind walking although we will have a 1 year old with us in a buggy, which hopefully won't cause any problems.

I think the 1yr old could get very bored tbh, there really isn't anything for little ones to do

valiumredhead · 29/09/2013 09:41

I wouldn't go with a buggy, seriously.

valiumredhead · 29/09/2013 09:41

I wouldn't go with children full stop.

RippingYarns · 29/09/2013 09:43

I was being polite, but agree with val, not a place for youngsters at all

IsaacCox · 29/09/2013 14:43

When is this? I'm interested in the Birmingham one. Is there a link please? Thanks :)

paleandinteresting · 29/09/2013 16:28

We went when DS1 was about 4 mths old with his pram. It was fine - had to leave it outside the theatre bit obviously but there were several there. I was on maternity leave though so didn't go at the weekend.

Weirdly, since I checked this morning it says tickets are now on sale and you get 20% off if you book by the end of today using the promotional code WIN20

I thought it was ok but I'm in no rush to go again this year. Lots of stalls were a bit samey, not really a Christmassy atmosphere either. I had a nice day but theres no way in hell I'd take a kid with me!
