I have no problem choosing presents for my DD, but I find it harder to find presents for my DS.
So far I have bought a few stocking fillers, a rubiks keyring, a small meccano starter set, books..... I need some inspiration please for both stocking fillers and main presents. So, what are you buying for your DS?

Just think "Sylvanians". Then take out a bank loan for the endless requests which will follow Grin

wfrances · 22/09/2013 13:30

ds9 has asked for a kindle fire, bean bag, bmx bike, new football kit .

OvO · 22/09/2013 14:29

Pocket camcorder.
Minecraft Lego.
In fact anything Minecraft!

Umm, I'm actually struggling with my soon to 9 year old DS too. Such an inbetweeny age for presents.

Lego lego and more lego, science and electronics kit, remote controlled car or helicopter. Wii games and plenty of books.

So far my ds has:
Lego minotaurus game
Junior monopoly
Five children and it book
Scooby doo pillow pet
Fancy staedtler pencil crayons
Harry potter pop up book
Lego art carousel
Beano annual 2014

Plan to get whatever lego set is his heart's desire the week before Xmas ( he changes his mind often), a wii game and one of those slushee cups if I can find one cheaply ( am expecting it to be crap but both cd have been brain washed by adverts for them). Might get the guiness book of records too.

spookyskeleton · 22/09/2013 18:06

I am struggling too! am ok for small presents but not his main present. Latest thought is Disney Infinity as a joint present with his 5 year old bro and a couple of extra figures each Smile

GreggsOnLegs · 22/09/2013 18:09

Keyboard and microphone cheapo one from b&m 's
A electric guitar which we bought last year second hand but he changed his mind and wanted a Flickr scooter so we put it away for this year
Books, board games and a couple of dvd's< the usual

Katieweasel · 22/09/2013 19:28

My DS is so hard to buy for. He doesn't really play with toys. Last year he had a Kindle Fire and he has used it every day. He has shown an interest in stop motion animation so am thinking of perhaps getting him a stop motion camera.

BeaWheesht · 22/09/2013 20:06

Ds turns 7 at Christmas, for birthday and Christmas we are thinking of:

Metal detector
Stunt scooter
Go kart
Playmobil secret agent stuff
Disney infinity for wii

ballroomblitz · 22/09/2013 20:50

7 yo so far he wants a fliker as his main present.

I've got him a science kit, 3 ds games, books, a globe, nightlight projector about space, pjs. I've also bookmarked meccano kit, rubix cube, power rangers sword (power rangers mad atm), slushee cup has also been mentioned. It all seems a bit low on toys but he's not really one for playing with his toys as he just wants to go out and play with his mates all the time.

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 22/09/2013 21:23

7yo ds will be getting...

Tons of books...Dirty Bertie, Horrid Henry etc
DVDs
Nintendo 3ds and a couple if games for it
Disney infinity for the wii
Lego
Popcorn maker

Possibly a few other things also!

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 22/09/2013 21:24

What are these slushee cups you speak of???

iseenodust · 22/09/2013 21:33

best present last year was a subscription to The Phoenix comic. DS loves it so much I am planning to get a bundle of back issues as one of his presents. It's all drawn and produced by a family (plus a few other artists) and it's funny, exciting, varied and brilliant.

This year I have put Grandma onto the new Minecraft microworld Lego sets, and there will be more Lego, science kits, possibly a unicycle.

BeaWheesht · 22/09/2013 22:07

Remembered:

Horrible history battle packs
Ripleys believe it or not
Shin pads
Knee and elbow pads

CressidaMontgomery · 22/09/2013 22:16

All my 7 year old wants is Lego.

I didn't know there was mine craft Lego though?!?! He loves mine craft

shoppingbagsundereyes · 23/09/2013 07:56

Slushee cups are a cup you put in the freezer, add some kind of cordial, squeeze a few times and a slushy drink magically appears in your cup. They are on amazon, usually at about a tenner but I expect they will be a bit hit and miss so am waiting for a cheaper price.

QueenFuri · 23/09/2013 13:15

I'm getting my DS -7
A tablet £50 from Ebay
Lego- Space shuttle, Harry Potter, Star wars
Diary of a wimpy kid book, PJs and T-shirt
star wars figures
headphones
a couple of CDs/DVDs
DS game/Wii Lego batman game.

TinyPanic · 23/09/2013 14:28

Wow, thank you for the ideas, I have managed to add quite a few things to my list! I am still struggling for a main gift though so please keep the ideas coming...
