Please help me make this present very special for my DD. It's her ultimate dream present.

Last year, she asked for a doll that had not been made for many years ( my guess is about 15- 20). She'd seen one on holiday and adored it!

I found her one last Christmas, but it did not arrive until late February due to postage from abroad.

I have been keeping it safe, until this Christmas, and I want to give it to her as a special present from Santa.

I want to make it extra special, and wondered if you had any suggestions?

There is some blue felt pen on her face, mainly on the eyelids and I was wondering if I should add a note from Santa to say that the Elves got a bit of paint on her or something as they had not made one for so many years!

(Am going to try and remove the pen with magic eraser sponge first).

She loves bottles with the brown teats, anyone know of any dolls bottles that look like this?

Thanks for any help :)

Can you get one of those very small suitcases and fill it with dolly bits and bobs. I'm not sure what size or shape the doll is but tiny things are available if you look around.things like a weeny pic of your dd in a little frame might be nice (the sort of frame you get in some crackers). Maybe a little blanket made of a bit of shheting and a face cloth (towel). You could include a tiny soft toy as well. I'd have great fun putting that together.

Is it a baby doll ? As you asked about bottles I assumed so.....
Do you knit/know anyone that can knit so you could have a few outfits made for the doll. Like the suggestions from thegreyladey above.

How about a miniature talcum powder and small bath sponge and soap.
Bedlinen embroidered with dollys initials. A birth certificate. A little cloth book. Pajamas/nightdress. A little hairbrush.

Is leave it in a basket on the doorstep and get a neighbour to ring the bell and leave a note saying 'please look after me'

Wilkinson's also had dolls bottles with brown teats, a little dolls changing bag and mat filled with accessories, clothes and packs of doll-sized disposable nappies (as a child who loved dolls, having real nappies to put on them was my ultimate dream Grin)

I hope she loves her present Flowers

There is a link to a doll's hospital here: www.dollshospital.co.uk/
They might be able to remove the blue colouring?

PenguinBear · 20/09/2013 22:07

Thank you for the links :)

I have ordered the bottles from the amazon link in pink. They match the pink dummy the doll comes with.

I will look in Wilkinsons tomorrow, I am going shopping in our nearest 'big town' so should be able to find a few items.
I actually feel a bit guilty that am doing all this for 1 child and not even thought about the others yet. Although this was technically meant to be her pressie last year so I could say I am late to arrange rather than early.

The other thing she wants is a pushchair Similar to one that dd1 used to have years ago. It was broken before dd2 ever laid her hands on it so I am searching eBay for a one. It's a hauck Disney pram. If anyone happens to spot on on eBay please let me know.

I am also going to source some pink tissue paper and pink ribbon. Or possibly white tissue paper and pink ribbon to tie her all up in.

I'll try the doll hospital and see if they can help. :)

Jif will get the pen off!

PenguinBear · 22/09/2013 08:44

Thanks I'll try Jiff. Magic eraser didn't work! (the doll must be around 20years old so the pen could have been on there all that time).

I got a little pink suitcase for the bits to go in :)
