Ooh it looks great. Pity my kids are too old and I stay in a different country. Grin

Oh my God. I just need DD 4.5 not to be terrified of Santa and we are doing this!!! Amazing. Thank you for spreading the word and enjoy it Op!

TulipsfromAmsterdam · 18/09/2013 20:06

We went to Durham last year and it was amazing. The conductors and chefs were wonderful with the children and the whole experience was magical.
Worst part was the journey there and back as it was very foggy going through the moors.

We are not going this year as plan to go again when ds is old enough to enjoy it - celebrated his 1st birthday there :-)
I think when we do book would try and find somewhere to stay locally as would save travelling at night which is the best time to go to see everything lit up.

storminabuttercup · 18/09/2013 20:26

Sounds wonderful tulips. No moor drive for us, we're only about 90 min down the a1. What age would you advise? DS is three? Smile

Oh dd would love this. It looks brilliant. Have a lovely time Smile

TulipsfromAmsterdam · 18/09/2013 22:27

I think 3 will be a perfect age. DS will be 3 a couple of days before next Christmas so we hope he will enjoy it more then.
When the staff found out it was his 1st birthday that day they had everyone in the carriage sing happy birthday. There was lots of singing and dancing during the ride and they like to get everyone up and joining in.

storminabuttercup · 18/09/2013 22:30

Oh wow! Sounds brilliant so looking forward to it Grin

rosieposey · 19/09/2013 21:24

Ohhh i would love to take DS to the Dartmoor one - i clicked on their link for the 'south' one and it seemed to be a dead link - i'll check back in a few days!

Iwantacat · 21/09/2013 16:23

Link working now! Smile

YourHandInMyHand · 22/09/2013 09:09

We are going on this too, I think I am more excited than DS. Grin

I've had to explain to him that the outside of the train is different though so he knows in advance. It will save me an autistic meltdown when we get there. I don't want him shocked and upset that the outside of the train looks different to how it is in the story!

A friend of mine did it last year and said it was fantastic! Grin
