I have seen them for this price in a few places (Tesco's etc..), its because the new (wacky coloured, slightly improved) furby is coming out just in time for Christmas Smile.

We bought one last year using club card vouchers and it deffently isn't worth £40, was played with a couple times, ate batteries and was then put away. I know some children love them though but they are over priced.

A furby isbt on my shopping list but they had a big stand full of them advertising that they are £60 everywhere else!

Am debating buying one. Just seems a lot of money to spend and I'm not convinced they would be played with.Hmm

Im 32 this year and my mom bought me one when I was 16 (god knows why...I think she liked the idea of them) anyway, it probably isn't as super duper as the modern day furbys but I hardly played with it... to be fair, I was probably too old to be bothered with playing with it, but, they are annoying little things!

The new ones that are coming outdo look quite funky ( brightly coloured ), I think the original furby was more fun. We had trouble getting the new one to work with the iPad app and it was a bit boring, the only good thing it does is dance to music.
