Would she like dancing lessons? If yes...you could sign her up say for a course of tap lessons and give her tap shoes as wrapped gift?

Theatre related stuff.. all I can think is a trunk full of dressing up stuff, or perhaps one of those little wooden fold out stage things (like a Punch & Judy set but bigger - if that makes sense!)

Beehatch · 14/09/2013 23:27

A camera
Dress up stuff
Costume design set (like those stencil type things)
A sewing/knitting kit

Dd just 8 is getting lego friends, more design a friendstuff, a logo ball, monster high 13 wishes stuff. Don't forget the new frozen movie is out early December and the disney store are getting the merchandise in for that around the same time so I'm saving at least 3-4 presents for that as I'm sure she'd like the figures, handbags, stationary etc for that.

jamtoast12 · 15/09/2013 08:51

Lolo ball

jamtoast12 · 15/09/2013 08:52

Ooo what about a candy grabber? I got dds this last year and still a hit!

mine will be getting a few vouchers in amongst the presents - cinema tokens go down well.
lots of stickers/stationery - she has tonnes, but there's always room for more

davidtennantsmistress · 15/09/2013 09:23

Last year for my DD (8) I got her her own sewing basket and filled it with buttons, ribbons, needles, materials squares, embroidery threads, felt, glue gun etc She has loved it so so much and got hours of entertainment out of it!

Mipe · 15/09/2013 20:26

My dd is also nearly 8 but still loves toys, she is getting lots of sylvanian families stuff :)

How about some nice beads to make her own jewellery?

DragonsAreReal · 15/09/2013 20:29

My dd will be eight after Christmas

YY to cinema tickets

I'm getting her a few things like melt and pour soap moulding, glass painting and sand art.

Trying to think of things shed want to play with Christmas day. All she wants is the new Pokemon game.

PickledMoomin · 15/09/2013 20:29

We are getting DD (nearly 8) a sewing matching

Mipe · 15/09/2013 20:29

Or maybe some roller skates (especially if you have a roller disco locally)?

girliefriend · 15/09/2013 20:39

My 7yo is getting;

books (she is just about an independent reader now and still building up a collection of books)

games for her leapster

a new scooter (this will be the main present)

one of those balls with a plastic thing around the middle you can jump on (is that a logo ball?!)

she wants a new drs kit bag (she plays with the current one all the time!!)

some moshis (these are still very popular)

not sure what else tbh Grin

Marne · 15/09/2013 21:01

Dd2 likes baking so am getting her some cookery bits, she also likes lego (friends and city), she has asked for the moshi monster mall but all the other moshi play sets we have bought have been rubbish and break so I am hoping she will change her mind before Christmas.

She also likes music and musical instruments so I might try and find her something a bit different (she already has drums, guitar and keyboard).

I could buy loads for dd2, I wish dd1 was as easy (seems to get harder each year).

leesam · 15/09/2013 23:34

Thanks for all your great ideas ,she would love the candy machine ,vouchers ,soap making a good one too! Outgrowing moshi monsters now , might try her out on baguss. Love Sylvanian families but dd never liked it, already got a scooter and roller skates , thanks so much everyone xxx

My DD will also be 8 soon, some great ideas here, the seeing box one especially, she is really getting into sewing and crochet. I was given one around her age and loved it. In fact I'd love another myself, all my stuff is in plastic boxes.

clr2014 · 17/09/2013 10:45

I'm wondering about a kiddie ( or just small basic) sewing machine for my 7yo...
