Doll and pram recommendation, please

It's my dd's first Christmas this year, and her first birthday is 4 days later

I'd like to get her a lovely baby doll and pram, but everything I've looked at says for ages 3+. I have a ds, but he'll be 3 in January, and never had been interested in dolls, so I'm a bit out of my depth.

I'm sure she'll be toddling as she's already taking some steps with her push along walker, and is pulling up and starting to cruise.

I ignored the age recommendations on dolls, just make sure they dotn have any little bits she can try to eat!

Do you want something that can be a walker as well? I have seen a lovely wooden pram tjta would be great.

My dd has a toy mamas and papas pushchair but she got it for her second bday, she would have been too small for it at one. You need to check the height some of them are tall.

Re dolls we have amy first born baby doll? Basic one ie it doesnt cry or wee or any of that bollocks! And the toys sr us own version which came with a lovely soft carrycot an accessories that my dd loves.

Correlle? Also do lovely dolls.

Hang on and I will find you some links :)

This so the toys r us doll set my dd has, its on sale at no, we got it at sale price. She loves the little soft carrycot that comes with it and it's a nice little set :)

Dd has an el cheapo stroller and dolly given for her first christmas off a friend. Definetly think a cheapy is the way to go at first as they mainly push it roubd the house.

They only say three plus to cover their backs imo.

The wooden pram comes in two colors,'red or natural :)

There is a fisher price my first pram but this very plasticy and makes noises etc, but it is designed for learning to walk with.

Depends what style you want :)

5madthings · 01/09/2013 16:38

We have the cheaply ones as well ie fiver from tesco but if she is only just starting to walk it won't be very stable for her. Thus are great ttho.

My dd has this one, the handles are adjustable, she loves it :)

The pintoy or haba dolls buggys are nice. Not too big and heavy but wooden framed buggy style and last a long time. Also fold incase you want to pop on car to take with you for walk along somewhere future away

And easy to carry if they decide they don't want to push

The pintoy stuff is sweet, I may get dd a little rocking cradle/bed for her doll :)

The haba dolls buggy cost £100!!!

forevergreek · 01/09/2013 17:15

5mad - we brought our haba buggy in Germany and was cheaper than that. I think 55 euros.. That was 3 years ago and still going strong

5madthings · 01/09/2013 17:17

Oh they are lovely but £100 it may be worth looking on the German amazon site as it may well be cheaper to buy on there and have it sent.

BuntyCollocks · 01/09/2013 19:11

Thanks everyone! She has the fisher price my first buggy thing and it's really flimsy. I want one that's sturdy as she will be toddling, and I don't want something that'll easily run away with her.

I love the wooden ones that have been linked, so think one of them is a definite, now I just need to choose! A first baby born might be the very thing. She's not going to give a shit if it shits Wink at this stage, just something cuddly she can mother.

Of course, this could all be for naught and she'll just nick ds's trains, but at least the option is there!

We got dd the red moover wooden pram for her 1st Christmas it was great and has been well used, she just had soft dolls with it. Dd is 2 now and we are replacing with a new pram and a baby Annabel this Christmas.
