Unusual presents for people who are bored of bubble bath!

I have already made a good start this year however there are a few people most people I can't think of something exciting to buy

I am buying this for a foodie friend

Does anyone have anything to add for inspiration?

If you haven't bought the hibiscus flowers yet I would recommend not. I have read several reviews online saying they look like dead aliens at the bottom of the glass.

The dead aliens hibiscus flowers are meant to taste raspberry/rhubarb

But I had hibiscus juice in Egypt (lots of it. It's an insult not to drink it)

Last year I got my SIL a cheese-making kit. Not sure if she's used it yet though so can't say how good it was.

I tend to look at Mulberry Bush for toys.

The Science Museum shop also has some cool stuff and Kew Gardens has real orchid jewellery (preserved in resin).

Socks. You can't go wrong with socks. Or biscuits in a nice tin. I hate novelty try hard presents.

I got skittles vodka last year. I don't eat sugar or drink alcohol and it's not the kind of thing you can give guests. It went down the sink, I still love the giver though. I am difficult as I don't wear jewellery or burn candles. But I like socks.

If you have a foodie, fennel pollen is supposedly the knees of the bee (probably literally).

I would prefer to never have to buy my own socks. Socks, nice biscuits, perhaps some (useful - not flowery envelopes) stationery. These are the presents I really like to get.

I saw mushroom growing kits once which could be interesting - not just ones for the garden, but things like edible mushrooms that you grow on a toilet roll. That's pretty unusual/foodie.

Can anyone think of anything to get a 25 year old who lives abroad (ie needs to be small to transport) that isn't jewellery or DVDs/books?

We send a lot of socks and things like that but unfortunately the people we buy them for FIL are so hard to buy for everyone buys them the same! Socks are lovely but no-one wants 50 pairs I don't want 2 pairs as I wear them about twice a year with willies

Miracle berry tablets are my go to unusual present, but they definitely come under the 'novelty present' catagory. They alter your taste buds and make sour taste sweet, as well as other things taste different (guineas tastes of chocolate, I recall). Good for student types!

They look quite good! Possibly a stocking filler for DH!

I thought of another one, for the geeky computer types in your life, you can buy an internet domain for theirname.com or similar. Not too expensive, just over a tenner when we did it, but it depends on the domain.

Witt Where does she live abroad? If not hot how about some leather gloves, I got some lovely ones for a female relative from M&S last year, they were about £15 and easy to post! understand this is why I need help from an unusual present thread!

She lives in Europe. I think she's coming home this Christmas so we might actually see her to hand over her gift for once! Leather gloves would be a lovely idea but she's vegetarian.

How funny - I'm a vegetarian (just) 26 year old! Personally, I love the spicery pack idea. Looks like they'll fit in the letter of so should be easy/cheap to repost. Otherwise, amazon vouchers are great. I'm a bit of a foodie so unusual food items like lavender sugar are right up my street.
Things for the home are good too.
If she likes doing her nails then check out poundland - they are selling OPI nail polish for £1 at the moment - rrp is £11 a bottle!

My best Christmas present was some posh shampoo. I'm a 2 for 1 special offer kind of girl usually so it was a real treat. P

Love the book posters! Don't think I have anyone to buy one for (although think the DC would love them) but I want one for myself!
