9mo DD - wooden blocks, activity blocks or peek a blocks

My DD will be 9 months at Christmas and so far she has a Whirlee ride on, stacking water cups, some of DS' wooden train set.

I would like to add in some blocks to this but don't know what kind to go for I've been looking at classic wooden blocks, Plan toys wooden activity blocks and Fisher Price peek a blocks.

The latter 2 options I like because of their sensory value but would bog standard blocks be just as good?

Hmmmm, no idea, but my dd will be 9 m onths at Christmas too so going to start buying some bits. I will look at those blocks hopefully today. :)

I think it depends on how much longevity you want to get from them. The peek a boo bocks look good but are expensive and realistically unless your willing to spend a lot your not going to get many blocks for your money, which may get boring quickly. The plan toy blocks look good but they are all square so have restricted play value also. I think if you want to have them for a while a good set of multi coloured, multi shaped blocks would be best. Depending on how 'sensory' your child is will depend on the value of the other bricks. I knows two wouldn't be that interested as my of the sensory toys I have bought have gone to waste

We've got these wooden blocks from John Lewis... They've been fab... We got them for DD1 when she was 9 months and she still uses them now at 4.5.
