Do you have starters Christmas Day?

Tried to have a smallish breakfast and still not that hungry for Christmas dinner!! Did a fry up consisting of 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 egg, 1 slice of black pudding, beans and cherry tomatoes at 10am. Thought I'd definitely be hungry by now but still only just getting hungry! Think we will have to leave out the starters, but we always have them. It seems wrong!!

We never bother with a starter, just the full works. We had Christmas pudding afterwards, which was a first as we usually eat that on Boxing Day.

Never bother with breakfast, but do starter of baked Camembert with breadsticks for dipping.

Had croissants sbout 9.30, then a few canapes on the hoof at about 12.45, dinner at 2.30 and pudding about 4, so all spread out, no starter as such.

Had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon at around 10.30, and dinner at about 5 - no way could I have managed a starter, although I had planned one. Also just realised I forgot the pigs in blankets. Oh well , am full anyway!

We never other with starters because we'd just be to full for our huge dinner and we didn't have a chance for breakfast this morning either. Tonight we'll attack the piles of junk we've been given Xmas Grin

Small cereal at 930, lunch 2. Your "smallish" fried would do me til about 8pm! I think you overdid it...

We had cereal at 7.15am - Kids had a pile of fruit and a slice of toast and honey at 11 - Christmas dinner at 3 - no starters and Dessert at 7pm - when I woke up :o

Have breakfast about 10ish,

Then home made sausage rolls around 2ish along with other snacks.

Starters then kick off about 7pm consisting of smokes salmon or roast ham spending on of you like fish or not.
Followed by full Christmas dinner and pudding with brandy butter,

Now suitably stuffed

nappyaddict sounds like a massive breakfast to me tbh. We just had some Pannetone and a cup of tea. I did some canapes as starter i.e. smoked salmon and cream cheese on toast, various pates on toast with red onion marmalade, some olives

chipmonkey · 26/12/2012 01:28

The children had chocolate for breakfast.
We all had a brunch fry up at lunch time
Our starter was just smoked salmon, no bread but ds4 still found it too filling to eat a main course!

No breakfast
Starters at 12
Main at 2.30
Puddings at 4
(sat at the table from 12 till 7pm - eating / drinking and chatting was wonderful)

All kids are 10+ years old which makes a difference.
