I have been so busy shopping baking making wrapping and cleaning that I forgot to give a moments thought to an outfit for tomorrow.

What are you wearing tomorrow? Do you have an outfit carefully picked out, ironed and hanging on your wardrobe door? Or will you just wear whatever is clean(ish) on the top if the pile? Are you a dress up or dress down type?

We're eating bacon sandwiches on the beach tomorrow so jeans, fleeces, scarves etc first thing then I have a bargainous jaegar silk dress to wear later (was reduced from £149 to £39). It has purple in the pattern on the dress so I plan to wear vertiginous purple heels until I am so squiffy that it becomes dangerous.

Am mentally scrolling though my wardrobe trying to compile an outfit that is stylish, comfortable AND Christmassy.

So far am not inning.m

Oh crap I was going for fleecy dressing gown.

I feel massively inadequate now Grin

headfairy · 24/12/2012 22:37

Ima, I could have written your OP. I have pulled out a top I wore at work (so therefore relatively smart) on Friday and which is still pretty clean and ironed it yesterday evening. It is hanging on the wardrobe door Xmas Grin It's grey crepe de chine, and very loose and flowing. All the better for hiding giant belly full of turkey. I think just navy blue skinnies underneath and brown biker boots (I'll be kicking them off the second I get to my mum's anyway). I'll dress it up with some jewellery and lashings of make up Xmas Grin

Imabadmum · 24/12/2012 22:39

If we weren't goi g to MIL I would be doing fleecy dressing gown too TwilBach but I don't think it would go down to well.

Am now thinking back jeans heeled boots and a bright red floaty top....?

My mum bought me a dress for Christmas. So I am wearing that. It is this one. A bit more grown up than my usual taste but she was kind to buy it for me.

Imabadmum · 24/12/2012 22:41

Floaty top to also hide belly full of turkey and Xmas pud, and that I can surreptitiously undo top button on my jeans with no one bing any the wiser!

In the morning I shall be floating around in my pjs looking dishevelled stunning, with a large coffee. Then I will be wearing my dog walking gear - jeans, fleece and depending on weather hat/gloves/raincoat/wellies.

After prep and dog stuff I will get showered and changed and slap on some make up and Ive got black trousers and a sequin, long, floaty top.

Will be wearing either a red dress and lacy patterned tights or black skinny jean with a top that is fabric on the front but has knitted type sleeves and back (sounds awful but looks nice). Whichever one I don't wear I will have on on Boxing Day.

Black maternity dress (v flattering to large hips and arse bump)

Plum lightweight cardi

Thick black tights

Slippers Xmas Grin

rutnoast · 24/12/2012 23:27

smart jeans and a pretty but loose jumper (to hide turkey belly) - we dont really dress up

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/12/2012 23:55

I've got plum cord jeggings and a jumper for daytime (cooking and maybe dragging the DC out to the park)

Black & gold leggings (how stylish) and a black top for Christmas night.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 24/12/2012 23:58

khaki super skinnies
creamy coloured slightly sequinny jumper
I'd feel a bit weird all dressed up at 10am in my sitting room

ZenNudist · 25/12/2012 00:06

patterned dress & maybe a long red cardi over, black tights and black knee high boots outside or maroon suede ballet pumps inside.
