Get a looooonnnng piece of paper

Bestof7 · 24/12/2012 10:40

We're just tying a big bow around it.

YDdraigGoch · 24/12/2012 10:41

It's still going to look like a guitar though :(
She thinks she's not having one - told her they were to expensive. (DD -15)

I have been wondering the same thing....do I wrap it as a guitar shape or try to disguise it?

TheSecretSantaDNCOP · 24/12/2012 10:42

Hide it behind the tree? Bow around the neck sounds good.

MirandaWest · 24/12/2012 10:42

One of those big bike sacks they have at Halfords?

betterwhenthesunshines · 24/12/2012 11:05

Do you have a box that you could put the bottom part in. The top would stick out, but at least the base would be square so it would look an odd shape.

uptheamp · 24/12/2012 11:06

big bit of card wrapped around it, maybe try tesco or similar for card box?

Themumsnotroastingonanopenfire · 24/12/2012 14:25

My 15 year old DD is getting a guitar too! We have wrapped, but it came in a cardboard box. I would try to disguise the shape a bit with cardboard if I were you and wrap. Or hide it somewhere - when I got DH a surfboard one year I hid it behind the sofa covered in a blanket and then sent him to find it.

For comedy value, definitely! Xmas Grin

TrillsCarolsOutOfTune · 24/12/2012 14:26

Just gets lots and lots of cheap paper.

It doesn't have to not-look-like-a-guitar, it just has to look wrapped-up.

amck5700 · 24/12/2012 14:30

Put it a big bin bag with some crumpled paper in it so that when you tie the top it looks like a big ball, then if it's a white bag, make it look like a snowman, if it's a blag bag, make it look like a christmas pudding?

Himalaya · 24/12/2012 14:34

I did yesterday - big roll of cheap wrapping paper wrapped lengthways then rolled up at the sides into a big triangle shape. I handed it over and said "it's a book" Grin

Tonight I have to wrap a piano Confused

Let her open all her other presents, think that's everything - then ask her to get something from the understated cupboard / garage / utility room or wherever and have it right there with a bow on!
My mum did something similar to me when I was younger!

SuzySuzSuz · 24/12/2012 15:00

Or the under stairs cupboard! Which may indeed also be understated.....!

Allalonenow · 24/12/2012 15:05

Yes wrap it, lots of paper and tape, I wrapped a saxophone recently, loads of fun!!

Glitterknickaz · 24/12/2012 15:08

Well my mum did for me last year... But then it was in a box!
