Merry christmas everyone Grin im done nothing more to buy and nothing more to wrap so today my plans are to have a morning of christmas films with the dc make a ham salad in the afternoon then go to relatives at tea time for a few drinks and present swapping then bring dc home new pjs bedding bath leave santa his treats and reindeer food then when they finally drop off fill the stockings and carefully place on beds and set out all the presents and eat santas treats Grin

Merry Christmas to you too! I'm in a similar position. All my wrapping done, just need to retrieve Santa's presents from the various places he has hidden them.

DH finishes nights in the morning. If weather permits we'll take a walk with the kids, then a Christmas film before bath, new PJs and bed.

I'm lucky, my DM is making our dinner, then will spend Christmas night with ILs.

It's DC4's first Christmas, so am ooking forward to it! Xmas Grin

AltinkumATEalltheTurkey · 24/12/2012 04:43

Eeekkk , in wish I have all the wrapping to do, make presents, buy presents, clean house etc...

Cries!!!

Chubfuddler · 24/12/2012 04:50

Yay it's Christmas Eve!!!

I have to work this morning (utterly pointless but tbf my employers give us 1.5 extra days holiday over Christmas as it is) but everything is done at home. This afternoon I will take Dcs to church so I can sob at away in a manager.

joanofarchitrave · 24/12/2012 05:05

Christmas Eve, my favourite day of the year :)

I'm working today and as I'm passionately in love with my job right now that makes it a great day and will have a lovely evening hanging up stockings and singing carols and eating seafood and giggling with ds and dh.

MyNameIsLola · 24/12/2012 05:16

Happy Christmas Eve Xmas Grin

I do need to go to the shops this morning for Christmas Day breakfast but after that it'll be Christmas film, 'party food tea' church for the carol service then baths, new PJs and bed for the DCs before an evening of DH and I prepping and retrieving presents.

I love Christmas Eve! Definitely my favourite day of the year as the kids are so excited and I love all the anticipation!

Waitingforastartofall · 24/12/2012 05:45

I love Christmas eve my fave day, few bits to do but nothing major. Finding it really hard today as miss my mum so much, hate the fact she wont be here this year but I'm thinking positive for the dc who are super excited

Chottie · 24/12/2012 05:49

waiting sending you a hug, I miss my mum too on Christmas Eve. I do all the stuff we used to do together with DD now :)

We will be off to collect the turkey soon and then will chill and relax in the morning and after lunch, will listen to the Carols from Kings whilst we make stuffings and set the table. I love Christmas Eve too.

BardOfBarking · 24/12/2012 05:52

Happy Christmas Eve from me too - the very best bit :)

We'll bake santa's mince pies and watch a movie then take a walk down 'Christmas Street' tonight (one of those streets were ALL the freaky people decorate their houses like something out of Whoville.) New Pj's of course and then find where I've hidden all the stocking stuff. Xmas Smile

One year I tried to get all organised and I filled the stockings as I bought stuff and then realised on CHristmas Eve that they have to hang them empty DOH
Xmas Blush

Enjoy x x x

Merry Christmas Xmas Grin

All
My shopping and presents are done so today going to clean the house and cook my meat and prepare veg for the big day tomorrow. It's DDs first Christmas too so I'm excited even though he won't have a clue

Yama · 24/12/2012 06:03

Dh and I were up at 5am. Kids tagged teamed keeping us up all night until youngest decided 5am was morning. I suppose one of us could've had a lie in but it's CHRISTMAS EVE!

Not sure what we need to do today - bit of prepping. Mil arrives today to further add to the festive mood.

iloveholidays · 24/12/2012 06:08

Merry Christmas everyone.

We're off to the garden centre for a cooked breakfast, making some cookies for Father Christmas, making so crackers (loo rolls wrapped in paper with a little treat) for us for later and maybe popping out to buy DD1 a new outfit for tomorrow. My parents are coming over late afternoon for a buffet.

Then hampers for the kids, bath, bed then DP and I need to find the presents to it under the tree and wrap DD1s bike!!

Can't wait for the kids to wake, 6 week old DD has woken fir a feed and I can't get back to sleep!!! :)

PrattingAroundTheChristmasTree · 24/12/2012 07:22

Yay, I love Christmas eve. Merry Christmas all Xmas Smile

For breakfast, dh is going to make bacon and egg sandwiches.

Then we'll go to the big garden center which has loads of shops for a little walk around.

Then we're nipping to the inlaws to swap cars as we borrowed theirs to go away for a few days on Thursday.

Then we'll go to my mums house for a buffet :) (won't swap presents though as we'll go again in the morning)

Then we'll come back home and watch 'Arthur Christmas', drink mulled wine and scoff loads of chocolate and crackers and cheese.

Then we'll go to bed as Santa is coming Xmas Wink

How many times can I say then Xmas Grin

hermioneweasley · 24/12/2012 07:24

I'm just off o get the turkey

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 24/12/2012 07:31

The only thing I have left to buy is a bar of Dairy Milk for my Dad (not his proper present, obviously!) so I will be dragging going into town with DH (we work at the same place, so the poor b*gger can't even escape there!!!)
I won't be let out early today though, and ironically sodding banks do not have bank holidays off as other parts of the world are still working! Bah humbug!
Merry Christmas everyone Xmas Wink

PinkFairyTaleOfNewYork · 24/12/2012 07:36

Merry Christmas I'm off to battle within the crowds and pick up a few things from tesco, then home to clean the house, then of to my friends to drink wine exchange presents then home to do the Santa thing. I am much more excited than DS Grin

whyno · 24/12/2012 07:40

Merry Christmas Eve! Excited. We moved a week or so ago so we're doing DIY again as usual. But at 3 o clock we're downing tools for the season. Getting dressed up for a special children's crib service which DS will love. Then the neighbours Christmas party. Then home for supper and wine :)

FreelanceMama · 24/12/2012 07:41

Happy Christmas! It's our 1st Christmas Eve so we get to decide what traditions to keep, ditch and create.

Does everyone do new PJs? I hadn't thought of that. Why? Is it something you did? Would you wash them first before giving to a baby to wear?

We're going to a crib service this afternoon where the little ones come in fancy dress - not always nativity related!

Hanging up the stocking I made - where? The blocked up chimmney place?

Still need to get an alternative christmas pudding e.g. Tiramisu.

ripsishere · 24/12/2012 07:43

It's 3.45pm here in Malaysia. I've got everything ready that I can. I've made bread, cheese and apple sauce this afternoon.
All I have to do is wrap DDs presents while she's at the swimming pool and I've finished.
Happy Christmas one and all.

mockeveryweek · 24/12/2012 07:46

We are going out today - getting a train to our friends' house. I am so happy we are spending it with people we really want to see as opposed to my toxic miserable parents Xmas Smile. We will be having roast turkey and trimmings for lunch. My parents and nan will be dropping in for a while in the evening but at least it's limited to a couple of hours!

All Xmas day presents are wrapped - a few left to do for after Xmas (we have visitors over the holidays) as we ran out of paper Xmas Blush

We will be driven home fairly late, and will be surprised by new jammies (for the first time I've also got some for DH and myself, not just the DCs!) and a new cuddly toy (Stitch and Mike Wozowski) for the DCs.

Then DH and I will be getting the presents ready and getting to bed ASAP!

Chubfuddler · 24/12/2012 07:56

Freelance tie the stocking to the bannister. And if your chimney is blocked tinker bell lets Father Christmas in through the front door.

SantasNaughtySack · 24/12/2012 08:10

Merry Christmas Xmas Grin
I've done all of the shopping and wrapping, so today we need to;
Go to SIL's to drop off presents, come home for DH to make his Christmas cookies, I will make and drink lots of mulled wine, then we will all have a bath, put new pjs on, watch a Christmas film with special hot chocolate and open a little present.
Now just to get my bum in gear after a grand three hours sleep...!

MrsPnut · 24/12/2012 08:31

Merry Christmas eve.

I need to go to the butchers to collect my meat order and we need to brave town to get DD1 a micro sim for her new phone. T Mobile haven't made it easy and we needed to do it at the last minute because her old sim will stop working and she's 16. Xmas Wink

Back home for some lunch and then the crib service this afternoon followed by the pub, finally chinese for dinner and new Pj's.

foofooyeah · 24/12/2012 08:39
