I've made my DC little art tote bags. They are denim with fab Star Wars/Batman material for the pockets. It's filled with lots of drawing stuff. I really hope they like them! I'm still at the barely sewing in a straight line stage so am proud of these little bags. Xmas BlushXmas Grin

What present cant you wait to give?

Ds1 is getting a remote control plane....the only thing he asked for this year!!

girlsyearapart · 24/12/2012 08:09

Dd3 has asked for a satsuma.. We are going to wrap up a whole net. She will be very happy Grin

jaggythistle · 24/12/2012 08:12

DS1 (3) wants a particular cuddly toy for his ridiculously huge collection and i am really looking forward to seeing him carrying it about all day. :) also agree that just seeing the 'Santa's been' expression will be great.

marriednotdead · 24/12/2012 08:15

Thanks Xmas Blush

This thread is turning me into a panda eyed wreck. Will stop reading until I finish work or I will scare away the customers Xmas Grin

FellatioNelson · 24/12/2012 08:16

Driving lessons to my 17 year old. He doesn't know, and is not expecting them. He will be over the moon. Grin

COCKadoodledooo · 24/12/2012 08:22

Ds1 asked for an expensive Lego set. Sadly despite being the tender age he is (9 next week) he is aware that our financial situation is pretty ropey do there was no way we could afford it, so he asked for a few cheaper bits even though they weren't really what he wanted.
Have managed to source his original choice, second hand but complete and in great nick, for half the price and I cannot wait to see his face Xmas Grin

CheerfulYank · 24/12/2012 08:25

Oh, these are so lovely! :)

DS has not asked for anything in particular, but will be so happy anyway just because Santa came.

DH wanted a few different books and didn't think I was able to get them, but I did. I think he'll be happy. :)

I have a doctor's appointment today and am hoping to be able to give both of them scan pics of DC2 (due in May.) :o

Yes, my DD her first doll!! It's a baby annabelle and she plays with everybody elses when she goes to their house, so I have been literally sitting on my hands not to give it to her early, just cannot wait to see her face!!! (she's 18 months)

Bumply · 24/12/2012 09:19

I'm hoping ds1 bah humbug 14 year old will like at least one of his presents. He's just at that age where making a choice of what to have for breakfast is beyond him. Originally said he doesn't want anything, then said I could get him stuff but wouldn't make any suggestions.

MsIngaFewmarbles · 24/12/2012 09:22

I have bought my DH drumsticks and a voucher for practice sessions. He has been mourning the loss of his kit for 3 years due to house downsizing :)

ThePlEWhoLovedMe · 24/12/2012 09:33

I am most looking forward to giving my youngest his gift. It is a day visit to a local Zoo with a half hour slot to go into the Meerkat enclosure to have a play !! So excited.

Married - what a thoughtful thing to do - that's what Christmas is all about

HermioneE · 24/12/2012 09:40

Am looking forward to giving DH a particular cd he asked for. He's unaware of quite how hard it was to source so I'm not sure whether he will appreciate the effort that went in, but I'm very proud of myself Xmas Grin

craftynclothy · 24/12/2012 09:46

Quite a lot this year actually - for a variety of reasons:

The kids - i've made them a blanket each and a Mario blanket to share.
Dh - lots of fun little bits this year as he didn't have any ideas for a main present
Mum & Dad - They loved a picture Dh took of the kids and I've had it made into a canvas for them (not a huge one)
My Aunty - She's not been very well for the last few months. Last year I crocheted a scarf for her and she loved it so this year I've crocheted a blanket for her. She feels the cold a lot but her central heating seems to affect her chest so hoping a blanket will help her keep warm.

Ov i bet the kids will love your bags especially because you've made them. My kids love crafty/colouring stuff too - we've got a few bits for their stockings. I might steal your idea for next year!

Married Love the thought of the kids getting a Xmas tree, how thoughtful. Smile

gregssausageroll · 24/12/2012 10:05

Nintendo ds for ds. He has been asking for one so we bought a refurbished one just so we are sure he will like it. Fingers crossed but he has been asking and asking and asking.

cheddarcheeselover · 24/12/2012 10:15

we have an understairs cupboard with a little window in it, we're transforming it from filled with boxes, to a mini art studio for 5 year old DD.

I got an old fashioned lift up lid desk off ebay, a little stool and some shelves from ikea, her stocking is going to be full of art and craft bits and the first clue of a treasure trail that will lead her to the cupboard Xmas Grin

Taffeta · 24/12/2012 10:17

DM is impossible to buy for. She is 75, and many years I just get her nightdresses or bubble bath.

This year, have bought her The Snowman from BuildaBear and got the DC to say "I love you Grandma" into it.

She will think this is horrifically naff but will secretly love it. I hope. Xmas Grin

McPheastOfStephen · 24/12/2012 10:19

Our first framed professional photos of Dd

I just know my mum will have a wee weep Blush

OvOinAManger · 24/12/2012 12:40

This has totally put me in a happy festive mood! I hope all our recipients enjoy our presents as much as we do giving them. Xmas Grin

I think nobody will smile more at a gift from us than my friend's daughter yesterday who got a Hunger Games tshirt - she was most impressed. Xmas Smile

ISawMamaPizzaKissingSantaClaus · 24/12/2012 12:50

I can't wait to give DH his present because I want to have a play with it myself Very unromantic and unsmoochy, I know. He is getting a geeky magnifying thing to see our marine corals and other invertebrates 48 x bigger.

And obviously all of DSs presents, but that speaks for itself.

ThedementedPenguin · 24/12/2012 12:54

In my house we do Secret Santa between myself and my brothers and sisters :)

I have my youngest sister and I'm so excited to give her, her gift :)

I made her up a hamper, it has biscuits, chocolates, sweets. Also has a green and blue cat from mothercare :)

I can't wait til she opens it tomorrow :)

MrsNPattz · 24/12/2012 13:25

feet that's so so sweet and exciting!

I think mine is my grandads, I made up a photo book online full of pictures of my little man (3 months) - can't wait to give it to him.

What a lovely thread Smile

DorsetKnobwithJingleBellsOn · 24/12/2012 13:26

My nephews, DH has made them a potato cannon.

FeelingFestiveCheerMum · 24/12/2012 13:33

I can't wait to see dd's face when she sees that we have bought her EVERYTHING off her list

( she never normally asks for much but this year is well into lego so made a huge list for me to choose from. In October Argos were 3for 2 on toys so got it all then)

I know that makes us sound very overly materialistic but she's had a shitty year health wise and so she deserves to be spoiled a little
