Especially for children? We are abroad and am trying to rent a few for DCs.

OP posts:

Elf
Miracle on 34th Street (can't abide the original, has to be the 90s version)
Christmas With The Kranks (although not so exciting for DCs I guess)
Die Hard (again, not for kids!)

Loveweekends10 · 23/12/2012 17:14

chrismissymoomoomee · 23/12/2012 17:17

Whatever you do don't get Elf Man its the most dire film I have ever seen in my life.

MissMogwi · 23/12/2012 17:21

The Muppets Christmas Carol.
Santa Claus the movie, with Dudley Moore.
Fred Claus.

eggsandwich · 23/12/2012 17:21

prep and landing is great, I love the bishops wife with david niven and cary grant. usually we look on youtube for a clip of the film before we buy them to see if they are any good.

RedHelenB · 23/12/2012 17:26

Nativity

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 23/12/2012 17:32

Muppet Christmas Carol very popular here

LaCiccolina · 23/12/2012 17:33

Miracle on 34th street with Richard Attenborough is the best Christmas film ever bar none.

cricketballs · 23/12/2012 17:35

Fully agree about the 90s version of 34th Street - watch it every year after doing the decorations Grin

nokidshere · 23/12/2012 17:36

Ahh I dont have a favourite but I watched "white Christmas" yesterday and it was lluuvverrly!

XBenedict · 23/12/2012 17:36

The Polar Express - watching it right now!

CooEeeEldridge · 23/12/2012 17:38

Holiday inn, wonderful life, Christmas carol. More modern ones are Hook and Love Actually. Just watching Love Actually now, I bloody love it!!!

exexpat · 23/12/2012 17:41

I have a soft spot for Scrooged, but it depends how old your DCs are. Otherwise, Polar Express, Muppet Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street, Arthur Christmas are all good. DD has also been enjoying the Santa Clause (1 & 2), Elf and Snow Buddies.

Bogeyface · 23/12/2012 17:44

My favourite is Scrooge, the black and white version with Alastair Sim, the coloured version of the same film is awful, makes me wish Tiny Tim had kicked the bucket :o

lemonpuff · 23/12/2012 17:45

Eloise's Christmas
Meet me in St Louis

shesariver · 23/12/2012 17:46

Elf, closely followed by The Polar Express and Arthur Christmas, a new favourite.

GrannyRatAteAllTheMincePies · 23/12/2012 17:47

Got to be Scrooged! Love it.

HyvaPaiva · 23/12/2012 17:52

Home Alone 1 & 2 (not the others)
Elf
Miracle on 34th Street (90s version)
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Santa Claus
The Santa Clause
...and a new favourite is The Mistle-Tones (TV movie)
