And just realised I am not sure whether I am supposed to store the sausage rolls and beef patties in the fridge or a tin on kitchen worktop am hoping they will be around for a few days. Where would be best to store them please

I'd keep them in the fridge.

FRIDGE!
Sorry to shout my DSIS got horrendous, nerd an injection to stop her throwing up food provisioning by keeping a sausage roll vaguely warm.

Kitchen at Christmas, with the oven on is very definitely too warm.

I made Nigella's choc yule log today, turned out very well if I say so myself Smile

Now I just have to stop DD opening the fridge door to peep at it and sticking her fingers in the icing

superwhizzynewlaptop · 23/12/2012 17:00

and fridge, yes, sorry forgot to answer OP Blush

MisForMumNotMaid · 23/12/2012 17:07

I keep them in an airtight box in the fridge.

TeamBacon · 23/12/2012 17:27

Conservatory, in our case. It's basically an enormous fridge at this time of year

lolalotta · 23/12/2012 18:11

superwizzy I am making a chocolate log on boxing day, I don't understand the Nigella recipe...on her website it has no flour...is that right???

superwhizzynewlaptop · 23/12/2012 19:13

Hi lolalotta yep no flour - just eggs, sugar, cocoa and vanilla! Sponge is v light and soft, rolled up pretty well with minimal cracking. I made 2/3 of the icing in her recipe and it was plenty - think she always makes waaay too much icing. Have never made a yule log before but it looks pretty yum and am v proud of it Smile
