I wouldn't put them directly on wood/varnish, the oils from the leaves/sap/wood could potentially do some damage.
They would look nice with a bit of sparkle on tho

me? because in all honestly I went into the florist in the village and said I had a budget of £10 and that is what I was offered Grin looks good and smells nice... To be fair I've had eucalyptus sprigs before from there so probably why it was suggested.
