Would a 6 year old girl like a Hello Kitty tea set, as in a plastic one she could play with?

Thanks Smile

I think she might be too old for it.

PeanutButterOnly · 20/12/2012 22:24

Yes, mine would. She still loves playing with her teddies so would probably set up a picnic tea for them.

PeanutButterOnly · 20/12/2012 22:25

Maybe some 6 year olds are more sophisticated than mine Wink. I got that impression at her birthday party when some of them didn't want to play traditional party games. Mine is young at heart and loves playing imaginery games with her younger brother

littleducks · 20/12/2012 22:25

Mine would think it a bit babyish (sorry!)

PeanutButterOnly · 20/12/2012 22:25

"imaginary"

ArseyKwa · 20/12/2012 22:27

None of mine have liked Hello Kitty at all. Teaset - ok, they'd like a bit, but wouldn't really be value for money as they've had lots of teasets. Paint your own mainly. Anything moshi monsters would go down well.

NoSoggyBottoms · 20/12/2012 22:28

Hmm, bit mixed so far! I'm worried that it might be too old for her too Gumps.

Glad to hear that your daughter still enjoys playing with them though.

Wondering whether to take a gamble...she's the only one left who I haven't bought a present for yet.

Thanks for your replies

More replies since I replied!

I know that she got some Hello Kitty things for her birthday (in April) which she liked. She is very girly...likes Disney princesses, etc.

Might go moshi though.

Mine might for a bit but she's certainly growing out of that kind of thing. However I do think this is because she has an older sister- DD1 at 6 would have played with it!

PeanutButterOnly · 20/12/2012 22:31

Maybe a paint your own tea set instead? Good luck. It's not easy, these children!!

PeanutButterOnly · 20/12/2012 22:33

I've bought DD playmobil princess type things and the mousetrap game plus lego friends if that's any help Smile

NoSoggyBottoms · 20/12/2012 22:34

I'll have to have another hunt tomorrow! No children aren't easy PeanutButterOnly....my DS was hard enough!

I just gave same to a 3 yr old.
My DD is 5.5 and into mini la la loopsy, those awful
Animagic pets which are fairly cheap in Argos for the single baby ones.
We're past princesses and the only hello kitty she likes is on her PJ's.

She got a paint own tea set which she loves! Galt one I think.

NoSoggyBottoms · 20/12/2012 22:35

Ooo, I'll have a lookout for those PeanutButterOnly. That does help, thanks! Xmas Smile

Think a Hello Kitty teaset is a bit too young for a 6 year old, sorry.

If she is a girly girl, sparkly hairbands, hairclips, handbags, purses etc? Disney princess branded pencil case with felt tips ec inside? Disney Princess drinking cups or flasks? Money box?

MirandaWest · 20/12/2012 22:35

DD is 7 and still likes Hello Kitty :) But not really into teasets.

F0xyLady · 20/12/2012 22:39

Mine 5.5 would like a porcelain teaset but would possibly think a plastic one was too babyish. She loves Hello Kitty though.

PatsysPyjamas · 20/12/2012 22:40

My DD is 6 and likes Hello Kitty. It's quite 'in' in her school. She got a tea set for her 6th birthday too, although her younger brother has probably played with it a bit more. There was a Hello Kitty magazine-making set I thought my DD would like here as she is into drawing and making up stories.

Shattereddreams · 20/12/2012 22:43

Hello kitty cool cardz also big hit actually

NoSoggyBottoms · 20/12/2012 22:49

Thanks everyone for all your replies. I'm moving away from the Hello Kitty tea set now!

I like the "paint your own" idea...found a shed load on Wilko's website (particularly liked the clock one)

Also, maybe just buying some hair bands, etc would work. Thinking about it, she does tend to wear jewellery...mainly toy jewellery (rather than fancy gold/silver)!

Really fantastic ideas. Hard to buy for a young girl when you're used to a boy at home!

I'm sure I'll find something tomorrow...will just have to get to the shops early!

Thanks everyone Xmas Smile

mine are 7 and 5, they both like hello kitty, but wouldn't give a plastic tea set to either to be honest, youngest would like it but has tea sets, and is starting to get past it.

paint your own tea set though they would both still like

Daisypops · 20/12/2012 23:18

My dd is 6 in january. For Christmas shes getting; monster high dolls, barbie hair spray doll, handbag, coloured sparkly hair extensions, guess who game, monster high braid set, monster high nail bar, perfume and lip gloss and monster high design portfolio. Im sure theres more but can only think of these at mo. Home bargains had a few 'paint your own' stuff when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

akaemmafrost · 20/12/2012 23:19

Mine would.

akaemmafrost · 20/12/2012 23:20

She also likes lalaloopsy, Lego friends, baby Annabelle and accessories and pillow pets.
