spababe, we went one Boxing Day and were the only ones in there too!

DC's are planning to go with friends on Christmas Eve...

I went last Xmas Eve to Arthur Christmas and it was busy (that screen anyway).

I went last year for the first time & it was packed.

I'd book to be on the safe side - hit or a miss really and depends on what time the films are on and what time they shut.

I can tell you that the swimming pool is usually quiet - that's what we do usually - it tires them out better than the cinema and you can watch a DVD at home before bed if there isn't a decent movie on tv at the right time.

I'm taking the DC to see the Guardians film (we've seen Nativity 2 ludicrously early)

I may as well pre-book it, save me precious queue time.

CajaDeLaMemoria · 18/12/2012 22:08

I've never been to a quiet cinema on Christmas eve. It's usually absolutely packed, with parents and bunches of children waiting to see if anyone whose booked doesn't turn up.

I'd definitely book ahead.

I want to see the Life of Pi on boxing day with the family - I've no idea if it will be crowded or not! Will probably book tickets anyway.

We saw Rise of the Guardians on Monday.

DC enjoyed it (I fell asleep for 15 minutes)
There were maybe 20-30 other people in there.

I did notice a load of other parents nodding off.
Apart from the family with the toddler who screamed was a bit grizzly all the way through.
