After Eight mints...

So after dinner you can all play the game where you place a mint on your forehead and you have to move it down using only your facial muscles until you can eat it Xmas Grin

I have some great photos of my parents (both in their 70's) doing this last year Xmas Grin

Christmas cake! If no one likes it, invite me and I'll eat it cos I'm a pig

oddslippers · 17/12/2012 17:30

Mrs Presley I am intrigued, does it not just fall off?

MrsPresley · 17/12/2012 17:33

oddslippers

No, you tilt your head back slightly and make all sorts of faces trying to move it down, If your not quick enough it starts to melt Xmas Grin of course we didnt tell mum and dad that Xmas Blush

It's great fun!

PottedShrimp · 17/12/2012 17:34

Oh yes i have the after eights in my trolley, but never heard of that game. does one tip ones head back to 'secure' said mint upon forehead?

Mrs Presley - best played by an open fire!

headfairy · 17/12/2012 17:36

what about starters? Bread? stuff for breakfast on Christmas morning? Or are you only getting lunch on this shop?

headfairy · 17/12/2012 17:36

I like the sound of that after 8 game!

Allalonenow · 17/12/2012 17:39

Foil.
Something for breakfast.

PottedShrimp · 18/12/2012 09:42

oh yes breakfast! No I am doing about a weeks shop, but was thinking more of xmas, boxing day really, as there is always something missing and out in the sticks here, we have no chance of a corner shop being open for a couple hours christmas morn.

Foil, of course!

Some nice salady stuff to go with the ham on Boxing Day, after all the stodgy the day before salad is always nice.

Do you have lots of guests coming over? Loo rolls? You can never have too many!

Nibbles for Boxing Day, chutney/pickles to go with the ham.

AudrinaWhiteChristmasAdare · 18/12/2012 22:06

Baileys-flavoured cream or dessert sauce also nice in coffee

Extra black sacks perhaps.

I now need some After Eight Mints.

HazeltheMcWitch · 18/12/2012 23:41

Nuts?
Echo the boring practical stuff like loo roll, kitchen towel, bin bags, washing up liquid, matches...
Onions, always onions.
Chutney for cheeseboard

bumpybecky · 18/12/2012 23:42

bin bags
loo roll
paracetamol

Trumpton · 19/12/2012 05:01

Sprouts ?? Or do they come under the heading of blah blah Xmas Grin ?

We always have bubble and squeak and cold meats on Boxing Day so I would add a cabbage to that list .

Brandy butter to spread on the Christmas cake (yum)

pottedshrimp · 19/12/2012 06:55

trumpton = the sprouts are deffo under the blah blah Grin
bin bags yes, v important
