Stocking filler ideas for alternative 13 year old

I'm struggling to think of what to put in dd1's stocking this year. In the past I've done crafty kits, pens, chocs, small toys but she's too old for the crafty things, not girly enough for a pink fully pen and a regular one is a bit... regular. Chocs I have, wooly socks, a black eyeliner but what else? She's not particularly girly, into music, playing guitar etc (dd2 has bought her a plectrum).

I have a 15 dd that does a great 80's kate bush hair style and is old skool goth. In her stocking she has make up wipes, eyeliner, eye shadow bright nail varnish, hairspray a wolly hat from a althernaive shop black over knee socks a few music badges for her school bag 80's band hope that helps

PearlyWhites · 17/12/2012 15:29

Lipgloss , funky compact mirror, travel hairbrush, badges for a bag like the ones from hmv

TheElfOnThePanopticon · 17/12/2012 15:35

Nail varnish, badges, pen and notebook, amazon voucher, badge or other small item (purse. gloves, wooly hat) from her favourite local alternative shop/market stall, something from Lush, guitar strings, nice shoelaces. If she likes art, some good pencils/charcoal. If she Luke's reading, a small book of poetry. Origami paper. A pack of cards.

nickelbabylyinginamanger · 17/12/2012 15:36

one of my favourite gifts at that age was a blank notebook. without lines. it was a hardback book.

rhondajean · 17/12/2012 20:15

Drumstick pencils (£5 from boots)
Bubble bath
Trying to thin what's in my DDs - they sound similar.

I'll come back if I remember the rest, iPad about to fall asleep.

How about some other foodie bits and bobs?

I've put a few silly treat things in the DCs stockings that we wouldn't normally buy eg. Marshmallow Fluff or those straws with choc/strawberry in that you drink milk through to turn it into a milkshake.

NotMostPeople · 17/12/2012 21:13

Norbert - are you stalking me? I bought some of those straw things just this evening!

Notebook/journal, nice pens - maybe one of the old-style calligraphy dip-pens ones that comes with a little bottle of ink? Something like these (I've seen much cheaper ones in stationery shops). New headphones?

NorbertDentressangle · 17/12/2012 21:20

.....nope, not me Grin

My DC will love them I'm sure as I'm usually too tight interested in healthy eating to buy things like that

Startail · 17/12/2012 21:23

mine have got, mini animal ipod speakers off my sister and tubes of sweets, mini choc oranges, and a pile of useful stationary bits, staplers with coloured staples, folding rulers, note books, post-it notes.
Christmas haribos.

DD1 (14) has had as past stocking, b'day extras, charcoal pencils, headphones, usb sticks, little book of water colour painting tips,iPod case, more headphones (she destroys headphones), nice stainless pen which she lost and earrings which she also loses.

That makes DD1 out to be a careless soul she isn't, both DDs have a blank spot for earrings.

mrscrimbobash · 17/12/2012 21:25

Accessories etc

Some interesting gloves/socks etc on here. I love knee high stripey socks Grin

Startail · 17/12/2012 21:32

oh and make up and the younger one likes nail vanish and CDs.
Socks
purses
body shop lip salve and body shop or boots natural instinct bubble bath, shower gel.
Hair bands
bath bombs
and the imperial leather shower gel that comes out like shaving cream they have a tin each if that because I know it amuses them.

DD2 has a couple of playmobil Olympic people, she' s almost 12 I guess they'll be the last ones, Very Xmas Sad

NotMostPeople · 17/12/2012 23:16

Amck Wow that is brilliant I've ordered the plectrum maker as dd would say 'you rock' actually she really wouldn't and would roll her eye if she saw me type this

You are very welcome :o

I have 12 and 11 year old boys so am resigning myself to becoming the most uncool person on the planet :(

I'd just hide your credit card in case it appears with a big hole in it! - great use for all those used gift cards and extra store point cards though.
