how long does it take to defrost a turkey crown?

its 2.3 kilos and im planning to cook it Sunday am but wondered how long they take to defrost.

I've never cooked one before so all tips welcome Grin

I'd take it out of the freezer sat am.

Add a big knob of butter to the roasting tin, ( after smearing the crown with butter)

Season the crown well whilst cooking.

I use a chicken seasoning or stock cubes.

Baste often

what do you do with the stock cubes?

I've got one of those roasting bags from mum this morning! so pleased im not cooking xmas dinner im clueless

If you're using a bag then you won't need to spread butter on the crown.

Though you could spread a little on with a crumbled up stock cube sprinkled on top.
Pop some butter in the bag with the crown.

Did you buy it already frozen? If so check the instructions as some are meant to be cooked from frozen. Apologies if you have already done that!

no it was fresh but short dated so its in the chest freezer.

its just for sandwiches and for some baby food for ds 9 months

sorry 1 more thing, do i just take it out the packaging and pop it on a plate to defrost it?
