Making Christmas Pie but what to serve with it?

I have made Christmas pie for the last three years and everybody has always enjoyed it on a buffet with pickles etc

This year I won't be doing a buffet so we are having it as dinner the weekend before Christmas (it wouldn't be Christmas without it!).

But what would you serve with if you were having it as a dinner?

I did it with salad and pickles. I found it quite heavy so didn't want much with it

You could do a few jacket potatoes as well if feeding lots of hungry people.

I'd prob do it with salad too - or maybe braised red cabbage - not sure if that might be too much though?

Home made chips?
