Royal Mail letters from Father Christmas

Has anyone had a response yet? What is it like? We sent our letter off on Saturday so I'm not expecting a response yet but I'm just wondering what to expect so I can decide whether to make up my own letter for DS.

Details here for anyone wondering what I'm talking about.

We've had them in the past and I thought they were good. Can't comment on this year's offering as MIL now sends NSPCC (or so?) ones.

I never did it this year as I didnt get a reply to the ones I did last year even thought they were sent in plenty of time

We sent ours end of November. No reply yet :(

We also sent ours at the end of November, although I was purposefully cagey with our (young) children as to what sort of response they might get. We haven't had a reply yet and, assuming we don't, plan b is there is a website somewhere on which you can make free Father Christmas videos (lost the link, but was here on MN I think). If that doesn't work, plan c is a handwritten note left in our (unlit!) fire one morning.

Our reply arrived this week. It's just a folded card with a generic letter and a colouring picture inside. DS was pleased to have it, but has started asking whether FC is sending videos again. Xmas Grin

Thanks all! I think I'll have a go at a bit of calligraphy and baking paper, just for fun.
