Are xmas Lush bath bombs ok for eczema?

I like the idea of adding something nice for the bath to the dc's xmas eve hamper but as they both have eczema we never use anything in the bath.

They often ask for bubbles and it would be real treat for them.

Does anyone know if the xmas Lush bath bombs would be ok?

Try simple children's bubble bath

Basically anything unperfumed, and maybe w/o sls, parabens etc depending on what triggers their eczema (simple is just w/o perfume, but ok for me) - holland and barratt will have something

My ds has eczema and the only bubble bath I found doesn't make it worse is matey, but I did check the label derma-somethingorother.

Definitely not! Lush do a very gentle soap with chamomile which might be okay depending on the eczema (but no bubbles). You can get E45 bath bubbles wich also might (or might not) be okay.

No Lush aggreviates my eczema more than anything else.

The little girl I nanny for can't use any of the childrens bubble baths but is ok with dove and simple

Unfortunately Matey was awful for DS1, it was given to him as a gift (and looks a little bit like him) but he really aggravated his skin.

I'll have a nose at the ingredients in E45, Simple and Dove. There is a bottle in the health shop (I can't remember the brand) but it's about £10!!! Maybe as it's xmas I could treat them.

I wondered if I could just put some glitter in the bath, perhaps with some glycerine so it 'floats' and just blow bubbles from a pot!

Glitter? Depends how bad the eczema is - not sure I would want to be picking glitter out of weeping eczematous dermatatitis. Sorry, that's not a very festive image, is it?

Some Lush products can actually help with eczema - I have found Lush Dream cream the best cream for dealing with my DS eczema - it has an oatmeal base - read the reviews they speak for themselves!!

I'm pretty sure they also do a bath bomb for sensitive skin - ask in store they are very helpful!

I went into Lush and asked this very question just today for exactly the same reason - spooky!!!

I have eczema and so does dd2. The dc never have bubbles or a nice smelling bath because of this.

The very nice helpful lady in Lush said that is there a bath bomb, can't remember the name, which only has chamomile and aloe vera in it. So I've bought one for myself to try.

There is also something called 'soap beard' or something which is very mild and you can swish it about in the bath to create bubbles.

I'm going to try the bath bomb tonight so will report back in a couple of days to let you know if I've had a flare up.

If they still sell one called Ceridwyns Cauldron it is really good also, like a bag of oats and chamomile leaves. Also love the dream cream, and some of the 'smoothies' are also very very mild.

DS has excema and I buy him the blue robot bath bomb. Can't remember what's in it but it doesn't cause a flare up. He's okay with Matey too but not much else.

Dream Cream is amazing.We all use it.Dp uses it as a face cream,I use it as a body cream and for all sorts of things.

My ds had eczema and Lush products didn't cause his to flair up although we tended to go for the milder things.

Sanex? Or Dove works with my eczema (was recommended it by my last GP)

Dream cream is great. My eczemic 8 year old sits and rubs it into her legs to stop them itching rather than scratching them.

I've also bought her the blue "fun" which is a new multipurpose product, its like plasticine but you can use as soap, bubble bath, shampoo, or even wash clothes with and they told me in the shop the blue one is designed for eczema and sensitive skins. It's about £5 for a block.

Ds only suffers mildly with eczema these days but is ok with the little blue robot bath bomb in Lush.

Matey affected him badly but the E45 one was good.

Lush are the worst thing for my eczema by some distance.

I got these Snowman melts from Lush. The elf brought them with her!! No SLS so no bubbles either, but both kids loved it and are already begging to have the next one. And more importantly no flare up! We've had a bubbly E45 bubble bath too.

We use the sanex one which is sensitive, ph etc. etc.

It is ok for ds1 who has eczema, unlike lots of others. It smells really nice, and it's very bubbly.

Ickle baby bot is the robot one, very soothing and simple
Butterball is another one, as its packed with cocoa butter
I'd stick with the bath bombs not the bubbles. I have very sensitive skin and never reacted to anything there. Dream wash and dream cream are specifically recommended for eczema
Big blue is also a good one that can be soothing especially for psoriasis as its loaded with salt and seaweed

We use E45 bubbles for our boys.

I loathe Lush, it brings us all out in rashes.

We found Burts Bees Baby body wash & shampoo good. At the moment I have have a major flare up with my skin & it's the only soap I can tolerate. Smells good too (a bit like honey), with no SLS & no parabens. I think Boots stock it.

DD has both psoriasis and eczema, and likes the soap from Billy Goat Stuff. Their 'mild n milky' has goats milk and olive oil in it. Before that she used the calenda/chamomile soap made by Trevarno Skincare.

Having said that, in this weather our skin flares up a lot more so I am taking care to moisturise after every bath. E45 didn't help DD much, but we have found Weleda baby calendula lotion good. Still using that brand even though she is much older as we haven't found anything else to match it.
