For those who have already done their wrapping-where do you store them without the wrapping getting trashed?!

Hi all,
Am really keen to get on and wrap all the presents I've bought now so that I don't have to worry about it nearer the time, but am just worried that the wrapping will get trashed. At the moment all the presents are precariously balance in my 'magic cupboard'. Fine for the presents when unwrapped but as some are irregular shapes thinking the wrapping will get ripped if I wrap them now?Thanks. Apologies for trivial question!

presents for other people get put under the tree - presents for the kids go under the bed. When they were little, they got put in plastic bags and popped into the loft. The loft hatch is in my son's bedroom so that doesn't work for us anymore.

Told DS1 that there are now so many people in the world that the elves drop off bigger things early in stages, and then Santa does the Christmas eve run with small things, stockings, and checking off his list to make sure everything is right!

Mind you, Santa also emails me to check that the elves have put to one side the right Lego set from ds1's rather vague description, and calls me daily for behaviour updates after a spate of tantrums (if he doesn't behave, Santa will be taking presents away on Christmas eve, not delivering the rest!)

Mine are in the draws under the spare bed that I'm desperately hoping the children have forgotten about. Presents for relations will go under the tree.

Thanks guys, thinking I'll start with the relatives/friends' presents then and put those under the tree. Hopefullythen I canput the kids wrapped ones in plastic bags in the magic cupboard! Thanks

I usually wrap all presents christmas eve but then i get so tired usually i think it is worth it because the wrapping paper stays in tact but this year im going to take the risk and start on saturday and then they will all go bk in the loft somehow as they only just fit up there as there is over 60 (gone way ott this year )

i have done all wrapping,stacked in magic cupboard. opening cupboard, grabbed one to stop it falling and put my hand straight through the paper. dohhhh!

use better quality paper as it is thicker. Stored in suitcases in the loft

When we were kids, ours were always stored over the road in Bridies house - she in turn used to hide all her Xmas booze from her husband in our house. Whenever we went hunting for pressies all we found was bottles of brandy!

Thanks to a combination of less presents (skint) and kids getting older (they all wanted video games) this isn't a problem for me this year but other years I've had to resort to locking the study and hiding them behind stuff in there (in case they looked through the keyhole/window)

That only works as Santa doesn't bring all the presents here, just the stocking and the main gift so they know there are presents in there, they just don't know what they are!

One year when they were all under 5 and all the presents were bulky I had the hot press full, the cupboard under the stairs full, the top of our wardrobe full and some in the unused bathroom and in the study!

Mine are wrapped, put into bags and then put back in the wardrobe.

Mine are hidden in my present cupboard and under the stairs! Only half are wrapped though!

Mine are wrapped in thick paper and hidden all over the house. Lots of the stocking fillers are in a suitcase in our bedroom. Some stuff in loft. Most of the pressies are now under the tree now, including stuff for the dc from us, and it looks lovely!

Mine are in a trunk on the landing, with a couple of big ones on top of our wardrobe covered in a sheet.

Thanks for all your experiences guys. The thing about quality of wrapping paper is that it's not always easy to judge if paper is good until you've bought it and unwrapped the sellophane iykwim. Just opened some I thought was going to be quite crappy, which I bought from asda in January reduced to 50p (!), and it's really thick and good quality!

Kids stuff isn't wrapped, but is in a large box (one each) and I'm thinking of wrapping tomorrow, then putting straight back in the box.
THey are stored completely in plain sight this year, on a cupboard in the corner of the living room. THe kids think they are presents for other family members and haven't paid any attention to them!

I've done lazy wrapping this year for my family. Their gifts are wrapped in red tissue paper (no tape) and put into gift bags. THey have been put straight under the tree.

btw - don't call it a "magic cupboard" , we called our understairs cupboard "the dangerous cupboard" (it has the electricity fuse box/switches in it) it kept the boys away from it for years :) giving us the perfect hiding place!

Have now wrapped everything other than stocking items and school photos.have put family prezzies under tree,kids back in the cupboard. Amuck I just call it the 'magic cupboard' to myself (how lame lol!) but will make sure I rename it as the dangerous cupboard as soon as they start asking questions!

Rosvita - once we had guests in and one of the boys asked for a board game and I said yes, go and get it. he said he couldn't as it was in the dangerous cupboard. Our guests were well impressed that we have a dangerous cupboard - they asked if it had a tiger in it :o
