Was wondering if the Aldi/Lidl/other shops are as nice?

Come on, hands up, I know some of you have been taste testing - all in the name of research I'm sure Wink Grin

i actually find the aldi version nicer- its smoother and less harsh on the back of your throat.

I bought Sainsbos. It's really nice and on offer for £9 a litre.

DoubleMum · 10/12/2012 12:04

Yes I think the Aldi one is just as nice. DH must do too as he polished it off (grrr).

yy - aldi "ballycastle"
it has less booze in it, but IMO that's a good thing - saves me from myself

I prefer Amarula to Baileys and a few places have it for £11. I also had some M+S Toffee and Pecan Cream and that was ratehr nice

BlameItOnTheChoirOfAngels · 10/12/2012 15:49

the one that you get in home bargains. its £4.64 and tastes better than real baileys.

StarOfLightMcKings3 · 10/12/2012 15:49

Well they're as nice as bailys after the first few anyway.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/12/2012 18:17

I sometimes buy a really el cheapo one called something like Country Meadow. It's not quite as nice but it's fine and with loads of ice it's very easily downed. And yes, after you've had a couple you really won't notice.

The cheap ones are horrible in coffee though - they go all gritty and greasy.

seaofyou · 10/12/2012 18:22

Carolans is the nicest I have tried and lovely with ice or in coffee

usualsocksprezzie · 10/12/2012 18:25

The Asda one is lovely

CanIHaveAPetGiraffePlease · 10/12/2012 18:27

Baileys was reduced to 10in asda the other night . . .

ditavonteesed · 10/12/2012 18:29

aldi is lovely. makes a gorgeous addition to any hot chocolate.

The regular Aldi is nice, but the special one is divine. Superior to Bailey's IMHO.
Neither give me that yacky, claggy mouth after a few.

Apart from Biscotti Baileys which I discovered on a reduced offer. Only Baileys that doesn't need helping out with a slosh of spirits to liven it up.
