I have no problems with presents for younger kids but struggling for inspiration for these 3.

Want to get DVDs, popcorn, chocs etc for Christmas.

But have no idea what films boys that age like.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

Christmas or general? Elf is a must for any age :)

The difficulty is going to be finding something that's "suitable" for the nine year old that is not going to be really tedious for the teenagers. My nearly nine year old absolutely creases up at the Austin Powers movies, and loves the Blues Brothers, which should keep teens amused, but they're not Christmassy.

Elf's on today!! We're watching it in a bit-cant wait!

Didn't even think of that one!

An I don't kind whether they're Christmassy or not really. Austin powers is a possibility........

Johnny English reborn - 9 year old

Some of the James Bond movies are 12s so would be okay for everyone, other than that Clash of the Titans, Hunger Games, Sherlock Homes maybe. Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or go retro with National Lampoons - the ruder bits will go over the youngest ones head. My boys (11 & 12) also like Drillbit Taylor, the National Treasure movies & classics like Unce Buck& Waynes world.

I'd look at anything with a 12 certificate - those would be 12A in a cinema so most are suitable for 9 year olds I would think without being too young for the teenagers.

The Transformers films?

The Wimpy Kid movies are good- I took my nephew (13) and my friend's son (9) as well as my 2 girls and they all enjoyed them.
