PS3 games - lego or Toy Story 3?

I want to buy my DS (5) a new game for the PS3. We already have Little Big Planet 1 & 2, and he loves them - so something along those lines.

Does anyone rate the Lego PS3 games? And if so, which one? Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Carribean, or Star Wars? Alternatively, Toy Story 3 crossed my mind.

Has anyone got any of these? What do you think of them?

The lego games are really good and involve problem solving not sure if they might be a little bit too complicated for a 5 year old. Also the rating for most of them are 7+ although star wars the complete saga is 3+

Have a look at the walk throughs on you tube

Well I bought Lego Harry Potter today. Will see how it pans out.

Lego batman is really well made and my four year old has great fun with it. Lego harry potter is really frustrating for me and him!

We have Lego Harry potter and toy story 3. Toy story gets played loads more. Dss are 6 and 4 .

Oh! There's still time for me to change it. Toy Story 3 then?

Another vote for Toy Story.

We have a few Lego's and Ds (7.5) has only just started to enjoy them - he found them frustrating and struggled to play without an adults help.

Toy Story comes out again and again and I have quite liked playing it with him.

depends on how long you want him to play with it. I have an 11 & 12 year old and they still play their lego games - they have them all but wouldn't look at Toy Story now though they may have enjoyed it when they were 5.

They are getting Lord of the Rings & Batman 2 at Christmas. The Star Wars ones probably get played the most......but then they were really into Star wars.

Yes, I'm wondering, how much do you need to be into the films to get enjoyment out of the game? DS loves star wars, but has never really watched Harry Potter. There is a danger that we are going to be on Star Wars overkill this year though (pjs, 2 dressing gowns (!), lego, stocking fillers etc) which is why I thought maybe Harry Potter may be something different.

......don't think you can overdo star wars can you? My boys are only a year apart, so the Star Wars years seem to have lasted a lifetime - they have all the lego with the exception of the expensive Death Star etc. They were however also into Harry Potter too - the first couple of movies are fine for a 5 year old if you want to give him a terms of reference for the game - I have never played the games to be honest - happy to ask the boys in the morning if any of them are particularly easier than the others if that helps?
