Can anyone help me? I would really like to get my DD a flip- up desk for Christmas. However, the only new ones I can find are built for 3 year olds, and the shabby-chic (?) ones on ebay are vastly overprices it seems to me. Any recommendations?

We had a really nice desk from vertbaudet, although not flip top, was well built and designed for older children.

Thank you - nice recommendation - I forget to look at them. However, the desk is actually going to be downstairs so needs to be able to be closed off so the other children don't get hold of her pens etc.

Ikea do a nice rail with attachable pots which we have above our desk for pens so they would be out of reach of little hands.

I got a really nice one for my dd for her b'day in Sept (7) from Argos, it wasn't cheap but is perfect. Sorry can't link but its code 719/2492. She uses it all the time.

THank you - it's also all the worksheets that come home from school. Less likely to be drawn on if they go go inside a desk, IYSWIM.

True!

Pricey but niceroll top

NonnoMum · 05/12/2012 21:49

Am liking both suggestions and googling like mad. Bit worried the roll top might be a bit small - have you seen it IRL?

No sorry

Ikea do a bureau style desk but that's around £200 and very grown up

My 7 year old has this lovely one from Jon Lewis and it'll last them to adulthood

Oh - nice mumzy . Can you tell me if the middle draw will fit one of the endless pieces of A4 paper please?

Look what I've found. bit pricier than expected but looks a bit bigger than the standard ones...
