Having the same problem for 7yo boy! I stumbled across this great little website: www.asseenonthetv.co.uk/top-toys-for-christmas-2012. They have the list of the toy associations most popular toys.

The Melissa and Doug dress up sets would be great for the 2 year old? I think there is a 3 bears one on Amazon, I'm sure it's under a tenner.
