I really like the look of "tasteful" decorations, but they always seem to be very expensive. So we have a house full of tinsel-draped pictures every year. I don't want to be "themey" but just quite natural-looking things that don't cost too much. Our tree is decorated by the DCs and has coloured lights, homemade stuff, tinsel, chocs etc and is very eclectic so anything goes really.

Please can anyone suggest some things?

We have lights on the outside of the house like this which we find cheaper in a place called Aladdins Cave.

Then we have a nicely decorated tree, a wreath on the front door and these on the windows.

In the local 99p shop I got something like this and bought a few to put on the mantlepiece. I also have some of these in red from Ikea.

I think less is more when it comes to decoration and if you look in poundland and other cheap places you can find some nice bits.

We have lots of hanging foil decorations at varying heights dangling from the ceiling. Then gold tinsel on each wall with brightly coloured baubles on gold string hanging down from it. And gold twigs with glittery bits and gold choccy coins in a corner. Looks good imo. Cheerful. (Not got round to tree yet! Is coming v soon - busy week.)

Thanks for the ideas everyone - watched "superscrimpers" tonight and got some more ideas from there too.
