i have got the idea of the perfect night in hamper, I know they will like it but what to put in it. Unto now I have come up with.
Champagne
Good brandy
Scented candles
Rum truffles (mil's fav)

I would like some food stuff but it needs to be kept at room temp.

Please help me make it a lovely special hamper

I think I would leave out the scented candles, it hints a little too close to the romantic part of their relationship for me! Xmas Wink Not sure I could give those to my in-laws! Perhaps add a dvd of a christmas movie they would both enjoy?

Some really lovely biscuits, a small fruit cake, pretty napkins?

MooseyMoo · 04/12/2012 19:16

Christmas ale
What's your fil favourite choc? I would add it in as well.
Xmas chutney
Unusual crackers (just got some rick stein oat and thyme ones from local deli)

Could you add a spice pack from The Spicery so they could cook a meal together?

We did this last year. We made some shortbread and wrapped in cellophane, bottle of wine, oatcakes, chutney, nougat, chocolate and a good cheddar.

If they like their alcohol & celebrating you could add some sugar cubes, angostura bitters & they could make champagne cocktails to go with everything (you could also add Grand Marnier as well for extra kick), what about crackers to pull for a little bit of fun. If you didn't want the candles how about small chrismassy smelling diffuser, fave sweets - for my Dad this would be Maltesers whilst watching DVD.

I did this the other year- I added a 'posh' jam and marmalade and a lovely wooden Christmas tree decoration that they've added to their tree every year Smile

Thanks for the ideas. They are fab. Am going to make a list

this might sound like a daft question, but do they have champagne flutes? My PILs/parents didn't/don't... just a thought.

Agree with posh nuts/crisps.... and a DVD.

Why leave out the scented candles? Chuck in a bottle of massage oil and give them a Christmas to remember!!!

Agree with lilo Grin
