I have two boys 7 & 4 and will be nicking all of these.

DS also wants some of those god awful tattoos so I might bung some of those in.

Set of dice from the learning windmill for dd1 with numbers up to 12 and mathematical functions for times tables practice.
Seeds to grow some veg in the spring.
Plus all the ideas above, can't go wrong with a minifig!

What about some jokes/tricks from your local toyshop? Whoopee cushions, comical oversized specs, flashing bow ties. If I remember, toys r u has a joke/pocket money section.
Stationery items? Rulers, rubbers, pens, box fileswith football teams, angry birds, or whatever they're into.

I just keep an eye out for little bits whenever I am in the supermarket and put them away
