I love things that sparkle and sing so we currently have a glittery father Christmas bellowing 'ho ho ho' at anyone that comes through the door! What are your best decorators?!?

My parents brought up their Xmas decs the other day - I took most of the ones I remember fondly when I moved out, so these were mainly just random things my mum bought in sales (despite the fact they haven't actually put the tree up since I left in 2006)

There were a few of those birds that you clip on, including some very realistic robins... But also some silver birds with massive purple/black tail feathers... can't work out if they are turkeys or peacocks Xmas Hmm - DH was not impressed but DD was quite taken with them, so on the tree they will go!

My most embarrassing decoration is one I got 2 years ago - dad took me to Tesco to get the last few bits of food, and we sat down in the coffee shop to have a restful drink. They had been selling branded decs and there was only one left for a couple of quid. So now among my mostly traditional decs is a ceramic Starbucks takeaway coffee cup Xmas Grin I tell myself it is to remind us not to get sucked into the rampant consumerism of Xmas...

I REALLY want a little gold bust of Sir Isaac Newton like Sheldon hangs on the tree in Big Bang Theory (especially as my DS is called Isaac after him) but haven't found one anywhere.

Not gaudy..but..well odd...my father gave me an ornament he found in Asia...it resembles a strawberry with chicken pox..in a mouldy colour. It is not Christmas until mouldy oldey is trotted out..
We also have a beaver dressed as a gangsta rapper who sings ICE ICE BABY..when you pull the gold chain round his neck..

Don't know how Christmassy ice ice baby is! Am very impressed though. I have some strange Christmas peacocks too!! But sometimes they don't even make it onto the tree due to overcrowding Blush we have a Christmassy owl this year. (asda special)

I ve got a hideous chintz dressed Victorian frog that ribbets jingle bells. My children adore it.I cringe when classy visitors arrive as the children love showing it off.Its indestructible it must be ten years old.

Kirstoll..we know the beaver is Christmas because he is wearing a Santa cap!
I do have a fondness for Christmas oddities..I think I would love the peacock feathers and Victorian frog..
