Ds loves Madness, the Kinks, One Direction, very eclectic basically! There's a fab album from a few years ago called Colours Are Brighter which he adores too.

maillotjaune · 02/12/2012 19:10

My DSs all loved Madness from 2ish plus lots of others - play your favourites then you won't mind listening to it.

noisytoys · 02/12/2012 19:30

DD (4) loves fairy tale of New York. She's too young to really understand it though

LadyFfelicityBuntingworthy · 02/12/2012 19:41

Ds1 loves any Led Zeppelin and the latest Thea Gimore album (where she performs/completes stuff started by Sandy Denny) but I suspect that's not what you're looking for. I blame Planet Rock and dh and my rather, ahem, ecclectic vinyl collection from pre-children days Xmas Blush.

He'll also bop around to Status Quo, The Kinks, Madness, upbeat stuff like that.

Oh and Queen, he loves doing air guitar to Queen Xmas Grin.

Do they still do Now 565 or whatever number they are up to? Could be good.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 02/12/2012 20:02

Ooh what a hip bunch you all have.
YY to Madness, Zeplin and the like, i can,t stand the thought of her roaming round the place singing "My sex is on fire" or whatever Grin.
I,m such a gimmer.

Nellie The Elephant and the Batman theme tune Grin

I think on those compilation albums of shitty pop tripe they edit the lyrics to things for DC.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 02/12/2012 20:52

Alcon and the fucking chipmunks or any audio book she can get her hands on.

dancemom · 02/12/2012 20:54

Try the pop party cd or the Now Disney cd

ThePathanKhansWitch · 02/12/2012 22:34

Oh i hadn,t thought of audio books, thankyou and i will try the disney.

My Dd loves feckin alvin and the chipmunks too! It makes my ears bleed!

Elc is really good for both audio books and kids music cds (cover versions) -try online, I only paid £2.50.

GlowWine · 02/12/2012 23:13

Something completely different: 'they Might be Giants' quite educational and acceptable for adult ears too: Faves in our house (and our car!) are: 'Here comes Science' 'Here come the ABCs' and 'here come the 123s'

on Amazon

GlowWine · 02/12/2012 23:14

PS forgot to say DCs are 5 and 8 now but we've had these for a few years now and they're still listened to a lot.

TaperJeanGirl · 02/12/2012 23:45

My 5 year old is into Rihanna, Tinie Tempah, The Black Keys, Watch the throne, Foo fighters, Florence and the machine, Mike Snow, and Of Monsters and Men, with a bit of Rita Ora for good measure :-)

sunnyday123 · 03/12/2012 12:49

At age 5 & 7 my dds listed only to barbie & disney soundtracks. They love that new Taylor swift song but wouldn't appreciate the album sadly as I'd love it!

All well and good until I was forced to listen to The Macarena on repeat whilst stuck in traffic jam for 2 hours
Also "I like to move it move it" and "Who let the dogs out?"
