No idea what to buy my 'tomboy' dd. she loves Lego Monster Fighters, but is getting quite a bit already. Also the grandparents are buying her a furby.

I'm considering a micro scooter, but they are expensive and I wonder how much she'd use it... Any other suggestions would be great!

My 10 yr old DD is getting an electronics kit, and my 11 yr old DD a Manga drawing set from Hobbycraft - I don't have girly girls either....

Craft kits are good too - most successful present one year was a kit where you painted animals on stones (sorry river washed cobbles) they did it for days.....

Thanks ByTheWay, I like your ideas but I think they're too old for a 7 year old - certainly something to bear in mind for the future.

I will look into the craft kit you mention though.

Any other ideas anyone?

DD is 7 and her favourite present was inline skates. She also like Monster High although she isn't into any of the 'girly' dolls.

Dd loves her micro scooter and it would probably go to bed with her if I allowed it, she scoots everywhere. This year she's asked for a skateboard so she's getting one, she's also getting Hama beads and a lava lamp as well as a few other bits and pieces.

Thanks DoubleMum. My older dd has some skates which dd2 can borrow whenever she likes. Our garden is only lawn though, not enough paved areas, and the road outside our house too dangerous, so it's not as if the one pair we have are used much anyway!

Thanks Whyami... yes a skate board sounds like a good idea - although see my post above for why it, like a scooter, and like some inline skates, may not get used much, unless we actually take her somewhere to practice. She has a lava lamp (loves it!) and dd1 has Hama beads which they play with together.

Will however look into the skateboard option. Can you recommend one?
