Just wondering recently. In recent years more and more people I know have cut back. Told me when we have met or chatted on the phone that they are sorry but no cards. This year I have decided the same, with the cost of the cards and huge postage we just can't justify it. I am giving a small donation to CHAS which is a children's charity as I would normally always buy my cards from there but with the exception of family and friends abroad and a couple of elderly rellies we are not sending any.

I thought I would be bothered now the time has come but actually I am fairy relieved not to be sitting for hours writing them out!

I hope so, they are a hideous waste of paper. Still send them though, but fewer than before. Blush

I was just wondering that myself.

I guess I'll send 10 this year because I got a packet of those printed designs from school, but once my youngest stops doing that I'll probably stop. I don't know anyone's postcode any more!

I hope not, I love getting then and putting them up! I don't send or receive loads, but I would feel sad if they became a thing of the past.

My work has a big collection point in the main foyer in January to collect and recycle old cards.

feel a bit of a scrooge in the house with no cards up, but agree have reduced sending. i may well hand deliver to neighbours and colleagues though

I only send cards to older distant relatives and friends now and only because I know they really appreciate them, and they tend not to be on email / facebook / twitter so they may not hear from us otherwise.

Friends my own age and colleagues don't get cards any more because I "see" them all the time in real life or on Facebook.
