Polar Express, closely followed by The Snowman

dontstopmenow · 01/12/2012 05:24

We love The Santa Clause, Polar Express and Home Alone usually but this year hot favourite is Arthur Christmas.

olibeansmummy · 01/12/2012 07:32

Polar express and the snowman here aswell :)

Allice · 01/12/2012 07:34

I love Elf, great for kids and adults

Rain1975 · 01/12/2012 07:40

Elf makes me laugh out loud every year.

Whatevertheweather · 01/12/2012 07:45

Elf, Arthur Christmas, and Home Alone

PoppyWearer · 01/12/2012 07:51

The Grinch

bootsycollins · 01/12/2012 07:53

Muppets Christmas Carol, we watch it every Christmas Eve and I ALWAYS cry!

holmessweetholmes · 01/12/2012 07:55

The Box of Delights. Have to watch it every year and have done since way before I had dc

MrsChestyLaRue · 01/12/2012 07:59

Polar express, the nativity (dds 4yo and 2yo love it), elf, Santa Claus the movie

Yay!!

EugenesAxe · 01/12/2012 08:02

I don't really watch it loads with the children at the moment, but A Muppets Christmas Carol for myself :)

Home Alone is brilliant. Will have to get Elf! It sounds a bit slapstick so I expect DS would love it.

Merrycuckingfistmas · 01/12/2012 08:04

Home alone, elf, the Santa Claus, the nativity, Santa Claus the movie, there's too many to mention!
Yes, I am a child in woman's body!

Moln · 01/12/2012 08:05

the box of delights holmessweetholmes, is that the same as the series that was on tv (many moons ago)?

I love polar express and muppets christmas carol, though I have to admit to being a sucker for christmas movies in general!

akaemmafrost · 01/12/2012 08:06

The Snowman. It IS Christmas for me. I always search the listings a week before to ensure its not missed.

CheeryCherry · 01/12/2012 08:14

The Snowman, Muppets Christmas Carol and I like Polar Express but my Dcs find the boy really creepy! Should I be watching Arthur Christmas then?

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 01/12/2012 08:16

we watch santa clause the movie every year as a tradition. its not xmas without it Smile

gemdrop84 · 01/12/2012 08:49

Santa Claus The Movie and Polar Express and The Snowman.

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/12/2012 08:52

Polar Express, Miracle on 34th St and Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas.

We watch A Nightmare Before Christmas on Christmas Eve all snuggled together. It's lovely.

ChippyMinton · 01/12/2012 09:05

Definitely NOT Polar Express - I also found it creepy and my DC refuse to watch it again. Maybe ok for older DC.

Muppet Christmas Carol is lovely (but again has a scary bit - one of the ghosts).

Elf and Home Alone 1&2 are favourites too.

And Christmas With The Kranks , although it's not a kids movie.

holmessweetholmes · 01/12/2012 09:24

Yes Moln, that's the one. It's magical - I love it! The special effects are... of their time, shall we say, but it's a lovely story.

Canweputthetreeupyet · 01/12/2012 09:27

Arthur christmas, elf, the snowman, polar express, the one with dudley moor in he plays an elf (cant think what its called)

HyvaPaiva · 01/12/2012 09:29

Suited mostly to older children but Home Alone 1 and 2, Elf, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation are must-see movies each December.

fuzzpig · 01/12/2012 09:44

We've not really watched any with the DCs yet! (5&3)

I loved home alone 1&2 though so I've bought them - can I ask for a reminder, which one is the one actually set at Xmas?

Also got nightmare before Xmas and the Christmas Toy (a little known Jim Henson one that I had on video as a child)

DD will be watching Arthur Christmas at a special 'movie night' at school.

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 01/12/2012 09:50

Polar express and a little off piste, Tom and Jerry's Nutcracker.

INeedThatForkOff · 01/12/2012 11:39

So is Polar Express unsuitable for a nearly three year old? I have it for our Christmas eve hamper.
