the time is coming quickly no...do you have everything...are you going away and have things still to organise or are you just a laid back person who hasn't really thought about it yet and who scurries around after the 20th dec for everything?

I was so organised until mid November when family circumstance took over . I've got my bro and sis .dp and some family cousins still to buy for but thank god got kids done already. I would normally have done more food prep shopping but am in hospital so that hasn't happened.

glentherednosedbattleostrich · 01/12/2012 06:05

Going out today to get some more Christmas decorations and a few last bits then all finished!

Feeling a bit proud of myself and smug to be honest :)

Just need to do a couple of wrapping evenings with hot chocolate and mince pies

ScumbagCollegeDropout · 01/12/2012 06:11

Not even close.

Going to do the first bit of shopping on monday.

iloveholidays · 01/12/2012 06:20

I am organised this year but DD3 arrived 3 weeks ago so purposely started buying early. We're eating at family's on Xmas day and Boxing Day so don't need to worry much about food, just want to get some party food for Xmas eve.

Then need to start wrapping which I'm not looking forward to!!!

waitingforastartofall · 01/12/2012 06:22

I love wrapping, not very good at it but love nrighty coloured papers ans tags ect. My sis was a card shop manager her peeawnta are.always immpecable. Ribbon, arching creases and bows with fancy string round. If we ever buy joint present then I'm jot allowed to wrap.because I just haphazarsley wrap paper round

MarjorieAntrobus · 01/12/2012 06:23

Just started making some lists, now that it is December.

I have bought a few tiny stocking presents over the last couple of weeks as and when I saw interesting cheap things. That's all though.

Shan't be able to start food or main-present shopping till 14th Dec. That gives me ten days. Should be fine! [bgrin] I am fairly laid-back about it and find if I allow too much time then I am danger of coming over all perfectionist about it. Better for me to do it in a just-good-enough kind of way.

Dolallytats · 01/12/2012 06:33

Pressies are all bought and wrapped, just got to get 3 Waterstones vouchers. Christmas cards are bought, but not written yet!! All the non perishables have been bought and my Christmas delivery slot has been booked for the 23rd for the fresh stuff (leaving enough time to be able to send my husband out to get any 'out of stock' items!!)

The overdraft doesn't look too good, but it'll be fine by next payday!!

iloveholidays · 01/12/2012 06:36

I usually like wrapping but with a 3 week old I have a serious lack of time and rather be catching up on much needed sleep in the evenings if I can. I am going very easy this year, have bought stick on labels and no bows or ribbons. Picking up wrapping paper from m&s tomorrow so hoping to start this week. Tempted to buy one of those scotch pop up tape things rather than Sellotape but not cheap!!

Yama · 01/12/2012 07:10

We have:

Most presents bought and wrapped.
Wicker hamper filled with Christmas treats/booze/drinks/snackables.
Plan made for Christmas lunch.

Still to do:
Tree and decorations - dh will do tomorrow.
Dh's present

Don't do:
Christmas cards.

PrattingAroundTheChristmasTree · 01/12/2012 07:14

I have bought all the presents and they're all wrapped Grin. Trees will be going up today and tomorrow. Christmas party on the 15th, house is nearly ready (have been decluttering and decorating!) then will have to bake bake bake. Have to make loads of foodie gifts and vodkas. Then going to Manchester for our wedding anniversary 20th-22nd and seeing the lion king at the theatre on the 21st (if the world doesn't end!) also dh is getting me a kitchen aid from Selfridges or sell fridges as he keeps joking! (so it blummin' better not end, I've been wanting one for years!) :) Will come home and have to ice the cakes and some more last minute foodie things....Then it's CHRRRIIIIISSSTMASSSS yay! Then we're going to center parcs 30th-2nd. Phew! Busy month :)

lolalotta · 01/12/2012 07:34

Totally organised... I have to be my DD's birthday is boxing day! Grin

HECTheHallsWithRowsAndFolly · 01/12/2012 07:42

Nope. I haven't done a thing. Not bought a single present, or got the decorations down or anything.

I am only wearing my christmas name due to peer pressure Wink

Yama · 01/12/2012 07:52

Did I say presents bought and wrapped? No, I meant 'bought but not wrapped'.

I am looking forward to wrapping them though. Wink

TheOneWithTheHair · 01/12/2012 08:02

The dc's presents are done but no one else. We have five birthdays from 6th to 24th of December and those are done so I don't feel to disorganised.

We don't usually put the decorations up until 18th so that the birthdays don't feel too taken over.

akaemmafrost · 01/12/2012 08:07

All done for dc, just a few adult presents to get. Decs going up tomorrow as we are away this weekend. Pre Christmas diet starts today as well.

Julezboo · 01/12/2012 08:10

All done here too. :) Even ready for DS3's birthday on 14th Jan :)

Kirstoll · 01/12/2012 13:10

To somebody that said about that pop up tape stuff... You'll be better off buying a cheap Sellotape dispenser and then you can use bargain tape! Or saying that I think Sellotape has changed so that It can be pulled apart as opposed to bitten or cut :) (Sellotape connoisseur) pps thank god for iPhone spelling because coniseur was a daemon to spell ;)

bondigidum · 01/12/2012 13:42

Put decorations up last night, Christmas cake is done, most presents bought just a couple of extras for DC, making mince pies later on, elf will arrive this evening Grin We pretty much just have the food and drink to get now which we're getting on the 20th.
