What age?

Plain t-shirts and fabric pens?
Craft stuff - pens/pencils/colouring books/sketch pads with funky erasers?
jigsaws
DVDs

Puzzle books? Small Lego sets? Gogos? Periscope? Spy gear?

I got ds3 a little Playmobil set today (as a very rare treat as he was so good about wearing his new hearing aid today) - 2 tennis players - it was about £3 and he and ds2 were so excited that I am seriously considering returning all their christmas presents Grin

How old are your dcs?

Plus plus. We put these on the tables at a work dinner, people fiddled with them all night, and most vanished at the end. Some colleagues still have them on their desks and play with them while "thinking". :)

In Asda they have make your own sweetie necklace things for £1. I have divided mine into 2 so they can make a necklace and eat it.

My 5yo DD loves any kind of beads - have you got Hama beads?

Betterware sells a set of three racing snails- ideal fun for everyone including big kids.

Our stockings always have a kazoo or swanee whistle in. Also, a cheap sticker book.

I was going to say Hama beads too. I picked up a small stocking size set for 2.50 in wilkos.
I've also bought a sticker dolly dressing up book from book people, they have loads of them for 2.50-2.99.

In hobbycraft (but could probably get them elsewhere) I got each of my DCs an individual Shrinkle each (a picture to colour in, then you put it in the oven!) and an individual paint-your-own sun catcher thing.
