Soooooo no joy on the high street elf front-thinking of biting the bullet for the real one but they're £28 so would like my money's worth iykwim.

Dc are 9,9 and 8.

My eldest is 8 and I'm not going to do it because (a) we never have before so not sure how I would explain it's sudden arrival (b) I just don't think he will buy it (already questionning FC) and (c) it sounds like a lot of hard work to make it fun for 24 days!

Depends what your dc are like I suppose? Would they enjoy playing along?

I was thinking of doing naughty things for a laugh for just 2 weeks but did wonder what you do the next Xmas.It would get stale if you did the same things over and again no?

I started it last year when mine were 8 and 5 and got a few q's but nothing I couldn't blag my way through.

I'm not sure I'd spend £28 though [bshock]

You can use anything they've not seen before - thats festive - a reindeer, a snowman, whatever.

Polka - I'm doing a few new things this year - hang him in DH's underpants on the tree, green wee in loo, green milk in fridge, caught in my purse.

I don't do something every day and he's a lazy sod oops Mummy forgot to move him and sometimes stays in the same spot for a few days.

Polka, I think they are a little to old really, but, suppose depends on how much imagination they have!

I just started last night with my 12, 14,16 and 18 yr old. They loved it- it was plastered on Facebook and twitter and they can't wait for the next appearance. You just have to make it age appropriate. Our elf appeared with mingling socks from each of their washing baskets, demanding they were washed before being hung up on Christmas eve.

I'll let you know in about an hour.
DC are 7 and 9 (and we have friends age 4 and 9 staying), the elf is currently sitting on the table with a letter. I think they will love it, hope I'm proved right.

parsnipcake - :o at the reaction of your DC. I will be watching and taking -notes-- for ideas.
