Suddenly realised the kids would enjoy this and could do with a bit of fun. Why oh why did I come to this conclusion so late?Confused

NOwhere seems to have elves this year. I've hunted high and low. I'm also on a last ditch hunt tomorrow and if not I'm going to get a fairy. Bloody Christmas shop today had reams of gingerbreadmen, trains, owls ffs but not a single elf.

Garden centres. Our two had a huge range of elf toys, including the official Elf on the Shelf.

Same as blub, i'm on south coast and saw loads in local garden centre this week.

I got a lovely one from TX Maxx at the weekend - might be worth a look.

I'm doing the same tomorrow - I'll be able to get to TK Maxx, so hope to get one there as won't be able to get to a garden centre

Pound shops have elves in the decoration bits.

I was in Tesco last nigth and they had a basket of small plush toys, there were a few elves amongst the snowmen and sanats?

I got a lovely plush elf in M&S last year, like a rag doll style so might be worth a look.

NiceOneCenturion · 30/11/2012 10:36

iloveblue that?s weird my comment is written in exactly the same style as yours, unintentional!

Are you at all crafty? Because if you go and buy some red and green felt, some glue (copydex) and maybe a little bell and some ribbon, you could convert a small doll very very easily. Smile A sindy-sized doll (tie hair back and under hat if don't want it to look too girly), or a dollshouse sized doll. Check charity shops for cheap dolls.

I made an elf last year using one of those bendy wooden dollshouse dolls as a base (painted on face, could also use a pencil) and made clothes from felt. I sewed them on but glue would work equally well. Go on, give it a go!
