He has 2 big brothers and between them they have so many toys.

Loads of Lego, playmobil, Hexbugs, Scalextric, dressing up stuff, puppets already. Got him a Hot Wheels set last year and it was a bit of a flop. So feeling the pressure!

He doesn't need a bike or scooter.

We usually do one "main" present plus a stocking. It doesn't need to be expensive (he has no idea!) as long as it looks reasonably impressive!

Ice age 4 is out on DvD now. if you don't have first 3 get them too, hours of fun!

light sabres, more light sabres, double ended light sabres, lego light sabres........

for stocking - giant bubble making wand, headlights/torches

Has he asked for anything?

What does he like doing? Is he an outdoors/sporty boy or into art etc?

Something musical maybe - a guitar/harmonica/tin whistle?

Nerf Gun?

Remote control car?

Imaginext Bat Cave?

Table Football?

Easel and paints?

Batman stuff?

Batman imaginext stuff?

New web shooting spiderman - its huge and about £15 in tesco just now

Spy kit?

Makedo set - look on amazon

Star wars stuff? You can never have too many lightsabers

racingheart · 29/11/2012 18:57

Get him a giant yoga ball for rolling around on. Or even better - a space hopper. DC loved them and still use them.

Is he a softie, still attached to his bears? If so, get him a massive snuggly cuddly toy for the end of his bed.

What about a pedal car or rocking horse? Or a garden swing?

John Lewis have lovely toy accordions for about £15 that my DC were obsessed with at that age. The noise isn't even that horrible.

ChristmasCountdown · 29/11/2012 19:00

Another vote for batman imaginext stuff here. Magic set? Puppet theatre? Does he like Octonauts (Gup X)? Is he a Thomas fan (lots of new take n play sets out this year)?

amazingmumof6 · 29/11/2012 19:03

hate bloody nerf guns, hate the noise they make, hate the stupid bullets, hate the injuries - no no no!

AllBuggiedOut · 29/11/2012 19:03

Same situation here too! DS3 is getting a Furby. He will love it and his brothers will be envious Grin

amck5700 · 29/11/2012 19:07

We have a nerf war in the house every christmas day - kids have upstairs and we have down and we shoot up and down the stairs - very childish but we all have a great time - no shooting in the head rule seems to eliminate the injuries :)

amazingmumof6 · 29/11/2012 19:10

well, you know what rules are for....Grin

amck5700 · 29/11/2012 19:14

lol - luckily I have a very compliant family - boys are 12 and 11 and still follow the rules ....... I don't know what we have done right wrong.

PuffPants · 29/11/2012 19:15

Why are you panicking? It's still November, not Christmas Eve!

BirdyArms · 29/11/2012 19:45

I've been struggling a bit for my 5yo ds but have decided he is getting table football to share with his bog brother and he really wants a cuddly jellycats dog that we saw in a shop this week so think I am going to get that despite really not needing another cuddly toy. I have also bought him a rubber band gun from my mum which I think he's going to love.

PPPop · 29/11/2012 19:52

i have just got my son one of those vtech dinos that turn into cars, the big ones are half price on amazon at the moment. it arrived today and its fecking enormous which i guess will make him happy Grin

PPPop · 29/11/2012 19:54

i am also getting him a transformer and a magic set, books etc

amazingmumof6 · 29/11/2012 19:55

amck5700 - congratulations, you've just got a job as our head nanny! Grin
our boys are 11, 9, 7, 5 and 2.5 - I'll look after baby DD - when can you start, it's chaos here!

Lavenderhoney · 29/11/2012 20:17

I bought mine a microscope and am going to look at cameras, not particularly vetch as long as its robust. Depends on the price:)
Also we will make a trip to the bookshop and he can choose some books.

He would like a rocket ship as well with astronauts he can play with, plus the new ice age and Madagascar. That's it really, the sales are on in January so he can have a look then to.

Oh and cooking stuff, he loves to cook. We are getting a chefs jacket made up:)

AlfalfaMum · 29/11/2012 20:47

I was just going to recommend one of the Vtech dino car things, but PPPop has beaten me to it.
Think I might have to get DD3 one..

ballroomblitz · 29/11/2012 21:40

5 yr old ds is into spiderman, zombies?? Grin , marvel characters, still kind of ben 10 but not so much as he was before, oh and dinosaurs

suebfg · 29/11/2012 21:44

It's only a small thing but we are buying DS (amongst other things) this book to inspire him to make models out of the Lego he already has

www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO%C2%AE-Ideas-Book-Daniel-Lipkowitz/dp/1405350679/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354225386&sr=8-1

His main present will be Lego - there are some really cool Lord of the Rings and Vampyre sets out at the moment.

PPPop · 29/11/2012 21:48

We have that lego book on our wish list too. And this sorter

Ds1 is into the lego monster fighters at the moment. He has the hearse already (jolly Hmm)

BornToFolk · 29/11/2012 21:49

I've got DS a Leappad 2. It was actually not too expensive with the Tesco Clubcard vouchers exchange.

He's really into games at the moment so he's also got Buckaroo and Go for Broke (both 2nd hand) and Blow Football. His favourite thing at the moment is table football, a cheap tabletop version.

Virgil · 29/11/2012 21:57

DS2 is in the same position with an older brother. He is getting skylanders giants, magnetic dart board, beautiful Melissa and Doug magic set, a new sledge, John adams hot wires set, some audio books for in the car, a rugby ball, the secret seven box set, the klutz paper planes book, paper jamz drum set and boppit.

amck5700 · 29/11/2012 22:22

amazingmumof6 - I'm afraid it's mostly genetics so you are fecked :o

amck5700 · 29/11/2012 22:31
  • also, what you have is basically my OH's family - 5 boys followed by a girl......and she was more bother than all the boys put together :)

I am the youngest of 7 - we were all good kids.......especially me!!
