And p.s. which side of the park is it on, need to know best route as I'll have buggy with me so would prefer to avoid Tube if possible.
Thx

We walked through it last week to get to Harrods! It was rammed, dirty and muddy and very expensive....£4.50 for a hotdog, £5 mulled wine and £10.90 for a fish meal! We hated it, but my boys LOVED it! If you go with a buggy, go early as the crowds and mud will make it difficult for a buggy.

Thanks for that kay1975.
Grateful for warning on food, I expect a mark up for Xmas, but that sounds a bit much!
Will def get there early and hopefully miss the mud (smile)
Thanks again

Personally i went last year and have no wish to go back. But DP and DC and DSS all want to, so am hatching a plan that they go alone Grin

TBH it is a nice atmosphere but soooo expensive.

Hyde park corner tube station is right next to it

pigleychez · 29/11/2012 16:30

A friend went beginning of the week with her 2 children aged 4.5 and 2.

Said the rides cost her £4 a go for both boys and hotdogs £4.50 each.
Said it was good but very expensive.

Santa I think was free though.

fryingpanalley · 29/11/2012 16:32

It got really bad reviews on here last year, no?

noisytoys · 29/11/2012 16:47

Those prices are insane I was planning on going next weekend. I think we'll just soak up the atmosphere, see the lights on Oxford st and go for a meal instead

Thought I'd add on to this thread rather than starting a new one...

Could anyone tell me which side of the park it is in? Marble Arch, Knighstbridge, Lancaster gate?

Whatever is the quickest walk with a 5 and 3 year old!

Thanks!

EarnestDullard · 01/12/2012 21:39

It's at the Southeast corner of Hyde Park; nearest tube is Hyde Park Corner. If you have a buggy the nearest tube station with step-free access is Green Park, which is about a 10 minute walk away.

We went last Wednesday; it wasn't busy and wasn't too muddy either. We didn't buy anything though, just had a wander through (DD is only 2.9yo so not old enough to go on most rides).

Guitargirl · 01/12/2012 21:39

From memory from last year I think you can approach it from different parts of the park but the 'main' entrance is closest to Hyde Park corner.

JJWMummy · 01/12/2012 21:46

Hyde Park Corner station is currently closed. I have it on FB and get updates, they were staggering entry today it was so busy.

Check before travel!

solittletime · 01/12/2012 22:41

Thanks! We have tickets for the circus, no intention of throwing money at the rides!
The official website is down and it comes up in different parts of the park depending on which Google link I click!

Knew mumsnetters would have the answer.
