Secret Santa ideas for someone I've met once and know little about

New guy starting at work mid December and he's coming to the office Christmas party and I've got him in the Secret Santa draw. Budget is ten pounds, he's mid 40's just come out the army. Don't know whether he drinks, smokes, what he likes, dislikes! Any suggestions?

He's probably outdoorsy and perhaps likes hobbies you do with your hands?

Amazon gift voucher? Book voucher? That's really hard to think of! Can you ask hr if he put any hobbies on his cv? Then get him a book related to it?
