My 19yr old sort of hinted she would like her car insurance for christmas I said but you like presents she said oh but i work I can buy myself stuff I felt a bit sad that she has grown up and just wants something so boring for christmas I am still debating I think it is a rubbish present Grin

I used to love it when my parents gave me my Christmas money early... so I could buy decent presents for them!

I think it would probably be a great weight off her mind if you did what she asks. Nobody wants frivilous presents when there's something that they need, but can't afford.

Couldn't you get her something else as a surprise too?

shockers · 28/11/2012 16:57

BTW, have you seen how much car insurance is for 19 year olds? Shock Women stop getting the discount soon too.

BOFingTheDude · 28/11/2012 16:57

She's got her head screwed on- I bet it costs hundreds!

Mrsjay · 28/11/2012 17:00

I know it is sensible and she has the right idea I wouldn't be able to afford to get her anything else, her dad was looking last night and it is down since last year so I guess she is doing the right thing I just feel she is all grown up now Grin

There was a thing on MartinLewis's site about buying in advance and you need to pay by mid Dec to beat the European changes which will cause the hike.

Awww that's a bit sad but what a sensible girl you have! You could still do her a wee stocking with cheapo Christmassy bits in

Mrsjay · 28/11/2012 20:04

will look on martin lewis site, aye I am sure there will be a chocolate orange and a few bits and pieces in a stocking
