I desperately need to get a present for my nephew, but am truly stuck!

He has all the gadgets imaginable and likes cricket but has everything you can possibly think of...

What do your 8 year olds want this year?

we bought these for DS recently and he loves them.

They are very effective, and simple to use.

What about a ripstik, a stunt scooter or an electric drum set from john lewis?

He's our only nephew, so really want to get it right. I don't mind asking his mum but would rather have a few suggestions ready for her as I want to make an effort.

Plenty of brilliant suggestions so I'm going to spend the next week researching all these online.

DS is 8 and is getting the Magnext I-coaster for £59 which is a build a rollercoaster set. He's really into Lego and building. He's also getting Lego rock band for the Wii plus guitar and microphone to play on it. Comes to £56 from Amazon. HTH

Its the Skylanders GIANTS that is the new thing this year, although regular Skylanders also good. For £60 you could buy him teh whole new set (portal of power, game and a figure) - think its around £55-60. You would just need to find out whether he has wii, or PS3 or xbox platform.
