Other than chocolates.

He is a much loved teacher by DS (5) - any ideas?

Because I'm stumped. I asked DS what he would like to buy him and his suggestion was a power ranger Hmm

Both DS's had men last year and got them an itunes card voucher thingy.

Isn't the cheapest iTunes Card £15 though? He is much loved by DS but not enough to spend that much! Not when I have 2 TAs and 2 dinnerladies to buy for

I used to laugh at my DCs old primary school - all the pupils were really generous with Christmas presents to all the teachers, TAs, dinner ladies, crossing lady etc etd.
The majority were female, and were getting plants, flowers, candles, smellies and so on,
the 2 male teachers, got bottles of wine and golf balls!

I got one for a tenner!! DS also had 5 TA's in his class - 3 for 2 at boots was my friend! Extra pressie for school receptionist!

Just asked hubbie who is a teacher what he would want from the kids and he said homework in on time!! Also said doesn't like gifts as feel indebted to kids then - he is only doing his job doesn't want a gift. Men don't get it!

Shite - not supposed to say hubbie on mumsnet am I???? Man I am married to.

Your DS suggested a power ranger? What a great idea! Get his teacher a power ranger or something else your DS chooses, how about some power ranger stationery? It'll say far more about how he feels about his teacher than you buying a bottle of wine or chocolate or some other gift that didn't have much thought put in it. Plus the gift is from your son not you. Maybe get him that with a card and a note from your DS saying why he chose that power ranger or whatever. If I was his teacher i'd probably treasure it more than anything else his mother decided to buy me, it'll remind him of your son for a long time to come, rather than some food or drink he'll down in one evening.

Homemade gingerbread men ?

Food, beer, wine, stationery, socks.......... I would say these are my DH's favourites. Although anything is gratefully received and it really is the thought that counts. The only thing I kind of groan at now is mugs, we honestly have a whole shelf full of teacher mugs.
